I worked at Pacific Southwest Container full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company! PSC values its' employees and treats them very well. Excellent benefits, monthly bonuses based on safety and performance. Good work ethic is valued and rewarded.

    Cons

Advancement towards the top is very slow due to many employees not leaving until retirement.
Many long term employees are resistant to change.

    Advice to Management

Honestly, keep doing what you currently do! Smart people with big goals, working together in an efficient, safety conscious, rewarding manor. It doesn't get any better than that!

I worked at Pacific Southwest Container full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Full-time positions, pay, benefits, time and a half on OT, thru-put bonus, the company cares about its team members when you prove yourself

    Cons

Hard work depending on which machine you're at, drama amongst co-workers, chances you could work saturdays, and 12 hr work weeks can be too consistent especially for forklift drivers

    Advice to Management

More training programs for machine set-up and troubleshooting

I worked at Pacific Southwest Container full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay for a young persons first job not knowing anything.steady 40 hrs or more work weeks.always hiring

    Cons

Management does not follow the rules they have set for moving up in the company. The bidding system is a joke they choose who they want no matter skill or knowledge. This company does not care for you as person or what happens to you they want production that's it.

    Advice to Management

If someone gives you their all does a great job but calls in 5 times In 6 months talk to them before you fire them that would make more sense than firing a good employee

I worked at Pacific Southwest Container (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Typically had the weekends off (depending on production needs), competitive pay, and colleagues were good to work with.

    Cons

Not much room for advancement if you are looking to progress up the ladder and no pay raises unless you count "cost of living" percentage increase given, if the company evaluation feels it's warranted.

    Advice to Management

Allow for more opportunity for advancement into management to those coming off the floor.

    Cons

Seems like some people who should be promoted are not afforded the opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Good job. This company is very successful and growing so keep doing what you are doing.
