Pros
Betfair is by far the best place I've ever worked for. There's a lot of opportunity to learn new things and the compensation is competitive. The people are very professional and management is on top of things. You should try to work here... if you can get in lol
Cons
Management was trying to hire very rapidly and in the process they hired a few bad apples, but these people didn't last, you have to know your stuff to be last here.
Advice to Management
Hire people on a contract-to-hire basis so you can get rid of them quickly if it don't work out. Don't hire FTE off the bat.
I worked at Paddy Power Betfair full-time (More than 3 years)
Pros
Lots of opportunities in different areas
Great Betfair technology stack (Paddy Power, not so much)
Reasonably good salary and package
Cons
Terrible senior leadership - shouty culture and no empathy
Infighting amongst Paddy Power and Betfair factions remain
Company strategy a mess with lots of failed projects touted as a success
Offshore locations very badly run - no willingness by senior leadership to change
Lots of lip service paid to ideas with very little follow through
Advice to Management
Listen, don't shout.

I have been working at Paddy Power Betfair full-time (More than a year)
Pros
Alot of down time, but you must pretend to be busy
Cons
This is entirely in my own opinion and what i saw and heard and experience. Very uncomfortable working environment, The manager there does not know a thing about customer service, or can provide any assistance to anything regarding the office. He makes sexual advances , but mainly towards the men. Giving extended information or following up with customers regarding a issue, is entirely frown upon by the supervisor there. Your training is litterly sitting next to the supervisor while he tells you to take notes, and he will get on his cell phone, and engage in Facebook or pornography. Both acting manager and supervisor are incompetent. There is no direction, you can not provide any thoughts on how something can be improved or you will be a target. Customers are spoken about very poorly , and their losses and distraught that are bought on themselves or sometimes our own technical issues, are spoken of like entertainment and comedy , showing remorse or concern will be frown upon by supervisor and management . You have to constantly pretend to enjoy everything that goes on. There are a few other workers that are bothered but keeps quiet , to pay bills and you have some others that will micro manage and spy on you. There is no growth, no promotions, no awards of any sort , no leader ship. Supervisor constantly makes mistakes and then disown all liability, and ownership, and places it on others below . Their very disgusting coworkers , the 2 old women that works there , that screams at customers over the line and management totally ignores it, as well . There no protocols , you simply make them as you go, no script , so they figure they shouldn't even say good morning. Rules are constantly made up and destroyed , always a issue with your pay or time. Constantly spied on, supervisor makes you do his work, while he talks on the phone or sleeps, management has no clue what goes on in the office , always asking the payment team for advise. Or sits on the computer and watch YouTube videos. If there is news the CEO or someone up the ladder is going to come by, everyone is coach into being in their best behavior , and scatters to catch up, clean, and get work done.
Advice to Management
Please, clean out this office, get rid of management and supervisor. Or business will go down, people come and quit, but it's those people that took the time to do the job , took the time to connect with the customers. People are being paid for little to no work at all. The hours are being faked. And certified by the manager there who conspires with the supervisor and his favorite friends who he got hired there . I witness this my self, was there for a long while and will be leaving . It's a good company, but not good for dedicated people under these conditions .
I worked at Paddy Power Betfair full-time
Pros
Solid Company. Good Pay. Interesting Industry. Fast Paced Environment. Television plus Horseracing plus Gaming website.
Cons
Disorganized and revolving door management at US office. Culture of blame others and not take responsibility. Morale is a problem since Management won't really listen to employees. Many legacy employees are being pushed out to make room for younger less qualified/ cheaper replacements.
Advice to Management
Listen to employees. Take Real action not just offer platitudes. Give folks a chance to grow. Clean up culture of blame.
Pros
easy going work atmosphere, friendly colleagues, good wage for local market, good working conditions excellent staff parking and canteen and eating facilities
Cons
poor communication from middle management about day to day running of business being kept in the dark all the time even about changes to working practices that were changing the same day
Advice to Management
be more transparent with staff about what is going on,make sure managers employed in certain positions have the correct qualities to carry out job they are employed to do
Pros
Great group of people, flexible hours, positive work place. There always seems to be a buzz about the building.
Cons
Sometimes dealing with the customers can get you down but you have to realise you are working in the gaming industry.

Pros
Fun Entertaining Surroundings. Not your traditional stressful call center.
Cons
No room for growth. Dubious business practices. Management divides more than it unites it's teams. Leadership is very poor, unreliable and shaky. Be prepared for there to always be a problem with your paycheck. There is no uniformity in management and even less with the staff.
Advice to Management
Lead by example! Hire competent leadership.
Invest in developing a team that will generate growth and advancement.

I worked at Paddy Power Betfair full-time (Less than a year)
Pros
Decent salary! However in interview you are promised the sun, moon and stars! This does not happen!
Cons
They seem to just want to train monkeys to do jobs and once you want to have an input or try improve things, managers quickly clip your wings in fear of you being better than them! No room for progression! No ethics at all! I've never worked somewhere that has made me question something I love doing! My advice- get in and get it on your cv as agencies and recruiters seem to love pp, then get the hell out before you resent your job and yourself for putting up with it!
Advice to Management
Complete overhaul needed for middle management! Most have just inherited their positions through length of service and don't really have a clue! Oh and stop being such bullies!
