    Pros

    Betfair is by far the best place I've ever worked for. There's a lot of opportunity to learn new things and the compensation is competitive. The people are very professional and management is on top of things. You should try to work here... if you can get in lol

    Cons

    Management was trying to hire very rapidly and in the process they hired a few bad apples, but these people didn't last, you have to know your stuff to be last here.

    Advice to Management

    Hire people on a contract-to-hire basis so you can get rid of them quickly if it don't work out. Don't hire FTE off the bat.

    Pros

    The company is growing fast in San Francisco, picking up more and more talented people. It is a good chance to work with a company that has the look and feel of a start- up with international a foot print.
    Betfair has a great product and will change to face to the betting industry in the US.

    Cons

    As like many fast growing technology companies some of the managers needs some work on the basic skills of managing people.

    Pros

    Openness, willingness to do the right thing, challenge, mission, scale, experience, people, excitement. It's got good bones and huge potential.

    Cons

    Company has grown very quickly and it needs to rationalise performance levels across the group

    Advice to Management

    Some of the easy things are too hard - we need more of the basics polished.

    Positive atmosphere in the office with a supportive team. Light hearted and serious at the right times. Free pizza and rewarding work.

    Cons

    Not many the pros outweigh the cons. Being picky, at the desk for most of the day but able to take a break when needed.

    Friendly people that are helpful, great working conditions and the chance to advance in your career. A clear plan on how to advance within the company

    Cons

    There is room for improvement, especially when it comes to the software used as it is slow and a bit too complex, could be simplified so the agents respond quicker.

    Pros

    Good working Enviroment, right amount of stretch. Great facilities with good working atmosphere. Good training given from day 1, could not be happier at work.

    Cons

    Company currently in merging process, so can be confusing which department to go too... but most people willing to help so easy to find the right place.

    Continue with the great work...

    - Work in an industry leading Technology team
    - Large number of career opportunities due to the size of the team
    - The people here are really smart and its a real pleasure work with them and learn from them
    - We work with a lot of cutting edge technology which is a real bonus
    - Salaries and bonuses are competitive
    - Its really fast moving - which I like
    - We serve millions of customers every day - its great to know we have that impact

    Cons

    - You need to be proactive - we don't do a lot of hand holding!
    - If you don't like the pace it will not be for you
    - Post merger we still need to sort out some processes
