I worked at Paddy Power Betfair full-time

    Pros

I worked in the HR dept of PP (Pre merger with BF) for a year - really enjoyed it, made some great friends and worked alongside a fantastic team. The training was brilliant, it was a really fun place (especially during Cheltenham and the Olympics!) and overall my experience was hugely positive. Its not for the clockwatchers, you will work very hard, but you are compensated very well.

    Cons

Bit too many politics at times! Reasons that didnt make sense formed part of decisions, those coming from other large org's didnt bat an eyelid at this, those of us from smaller environments struggled getting our heads around it.

    Advice to Management

Keep running BAU as its a really good organisation and dont lose the fun culture as this was one of the most attractive things about working in PP.

I have been working at Paddy Power Betfair full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

lunch break is paid and included 9-5 working day.

    Cons

Office politics, poor management at least in payments. No extra pay for overtime and compulsory to work long days over festival period.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together and ensure lower level management are pulling there weight.

I worked at Paddy Power Betfair full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The environment was funny, the company used to organize a lot of events. The salaries are not bad, maybe no the best in gaming industry

    Cons

Bonus scheme totally unclear. I never saw a real meritocracy and some manager was completely inadequate for the role covered.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention when hire someone

I have been working at Paddy Power Betfair full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Competitive salary with great benefits.
Great people in there with excellent technical knowledge and a real want to make things better.
There was a great atmosphere and had some great friends when things were good but since the merger last year everything changed.

    Cons

Really good place to work for but there are a lot of levels of management which makes it hard to get anything through sometimes.
Toxic atmosphere that is not changing. They said they are trying to introduce new ideas to help but it's too late.
Anyone good that is left will most likely leave over the next 6 months now that they have their annual bonus.
Easy to fall between the cracks in here and get by doing very little. Only some managers care about the progression of their teams and they are few & far between.

    Advice to Management

Look after the people that made the company what it is and made you want to merge the companies. Admit it was a Betfair takeover as everything since the merger has been more for the benefit of Betfair getting better than anything for Paddypower.

    Pros

On the job learning. Intelligent and proactive staff/colleagues. Encouraged to learn

    Cons

Review process more annoying than satisfying. Changed a lot since the takeover...possibly has something to do with 350+ people laid off

    Advice to Management

    Get back the PP culture

I worked at Paddy Power Betfair (More than a year)

    Pros

Good company to start with! Very comfortable environment and you can always find time for a regular communication with your colleagues. Good canteen. Sometimes you can get a nice training.

    Cons

It's a huge company and if you started from the bottom line for you it will be almost impossible to get higher. Team leader and managers are normally busy with their career and not with their teams.

    Advice to Management

Please do not isolate yourselves from other levels. We have had in Stevenage so many "hidden caves" where our manager felt super comfortable and never care about real job.

    Pros

Good salary, great benefits and 10% bonus. Good location too.

    Cons

Very siloed. Difficult to get anything done.
It's not what you know, it was always a case of who you knew.

    Advice to Management

Try and break down the interdepartmental barriers
