I have been working at Padilla & Associates for less than a year

    Pros

I have worked at Padilla and Associates for 7 months. Developing their ECAT software. Great company to work with, they are passionate about what they do. Leaders in their industry. They have over 20 years of experience. Managers are experts in their fields and provide the right environment for you to excel. Great opportunity to touch many languages and advance quickly. Cons

Contrary to what other previous employee reviews. I only been here for 7 months and haven't had any issues. I work with amazing project managers, always inspiring to be better.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Padilla & Associates full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It’s a paycheck. Except for that one time they were two or three days late with the direct deposit for everyone in the company. No heads up. No apologies for the inconvenience. Management told us we should be grateful to be employed. You will get a $25 gift card to the Olive Garden for Christmas.

    Cons

Management are complete monsters. Nepotism is rampant. Every daughter and in-law is on the payroll, regardless of how incompetent they are. If you aren’t part of the family, you will be treated like absolute garbage.

    Advice to Management

Invest in a real office and stop using a condo as your corporate office.

I have been working at Padilla & Associates full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Career Opportunities - Wonderful work experience. Career advancements are readily available, if you choose to grow within the company. Shortly after completing my Project Management courses, I was promoted from a Compliance Deputy III to a Deputy Project Manager. Great exposure to highly funded public works projects. Compensation and Benefits - Benefits are outstanding (after 1 year you can start to contribute): 401K...

    I worked at Padilla & Associates full-time

    Pros

There were no pros. At least none I could remember. Wait the corporate office is close to Mother's Market. I like that store.

    Cons

Extremely HOSTILE work environment. Nepotism is rampant as it is a family business. Highly unethical management and shady practices. No career growth-- you just leave when you are at your limit. You will be underpaid and overworked regardless of how much experience you have coming in. They couldn't even provide coffee, you had to pay to have beans available in the office. I really could on and on but save yourself...

    Advice to Management

None, the management has been churning and burning through people for years. I doubt it will stop now.

    I worked at Padilla & Associates full-time

    Pros

-You will be exposed to a lot of information and learn quickly, or else be fired or made so miserable you will eventually quit. -Exposure to high-profile clients.

    Cons

-Management is greedy and unethical; bills clients for hours not worked, claims credit for work completed by subordinates. -Management is cheap. Be prepared to share a desk printer with the entire office. -Stingy benefits. No bonus structure. You will not be provided vision or dental insurance. -You are "required" to call in if you are running a single minute late, but they will expect you to put in 60+ hours a week....

    Advice to Management

-Be better people. Practice what you preach. Take accountability for ONCE. -Stop the shameless nepotism. -Spend money and hire more people instead of working your employees to death. -Send management to desperately needed leadership training. There is a reason why the employee retention rate is so low. Management simply aren't good people. -Operate with integrity and respect. Or at least hire an HR director.

I worked at Padilla & Associates full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Phenomenal benefits, offers promotions to in house staff first, opportunities at different offices, room for growth, and gives exposure to multiple areas of work such as DBE/SBE/Title IX/Labor Compliance, etc. Project managers are experts and a great resource. Job exposes you to clients that work in all fields of transportation and helps build relationships with those throughout the field.

    Cons

You're touching a lot of projects at once when working at the main office so organization and time management is key

    I worked at Padilla & Associates full-time

    Pros

It is employment to be used as a stepping stone to elsewhere.

    Cons

Poor and abusive management. Lots of fudging the truth on everything from what the work environment is to the actual work submitted to clients. High turnover. Stressful and disorganized work environment.

    Advice to Management

None, I'm sure they are churning and burning the employees on purpose.

I worked at Padilla & Associates full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Big clients, lots of potential networking, lots of responsibilities

    Cons

Terrible management, corporate office does not support staff, constant reprimands, overworked, underpaid, internal politics, nepotism (the whole family is on the payroll), 3 days sick leave per year, HR is difficult

    Advice to Management

Be kinder to your employees that's how you retain them, being a jerk, overworking your staff, and not taking any accountability doesn't make you a tough manager - it makes you a bad person
