      Pros

I started at Michael Page as an intern and got promoted over time to leading a team and constantly being valued for my contribution and commitment to the firm. Some of the ratings online just do not reflect our culture and team. Please see my experience over the last 2 years: Pros: - clear promotion and achievable bonus targets - potential to double your base salary with bonus incentives - constant effort from senior leadership team to react to employees feedback - flexible working hours with primary focus on performance - Fun work environment, team approach, team meetings and events - Health care package and 401k plan - Extensive training in multiple locations with other consultants

      Cons

      - Heavy responsibilities managing the full recruitment cycle from candidate generation to client management. - Strong sales focus (not HR, however made clear within the interview process). - Remote working in the making but not fully implemented yet.

Great Place To Build a Sales Career

Nov 21, 2019 - Managing Consultant in Boston, MA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Michael Page has an absolutely unmatched sales career progression track. Every early promotion within the business is based on numbers and results which is how a sales organization should be. While that can lead to a younger managerial structure, over the last few years Michael Page has made an effort to make sure that once you get to the managerial level your promotions are based not only on numbers but also demonstration of managerial behaviors. This truly puts your career in your own hands and has created a much more sustainable managerial structure moving forward. - Boston is one of our highest growth markets which is creating an overflow of opportunities for those who want to build out markets and grow their careers quickly in the business. - It is a very hands off and autonomous environment that allows you to get creative while also providing a structured training program that builds a foundation for consultants to be able to create phenomenal lasting relationships with candidates and clients - Especially this year, MP had taken initiatives to listen to their employees and enhance their work life balance with more flexible hours and a more dynamic working environment which has already yielded immense benefits to employees.

      Cons

      - This is a sales environment with 360 degree responsibilities from day one. For people who are early in their careers that can be a lot of responsibility all at once and can take a longer ramp up time to see success. - As mentioned above, it is a very hands off and autonomous environment where you do have to consistently be pro-active in order to prospect and develop your own book of business. Management is working on identifying tools to enhance consultants ability to prospect but it does take a lot of self structure, planning, and high output on a daily basis. If you're on the fence about sales this is probably not the best career path.

      - clear promotion targets - attainable promotion targets - the vast majority of consultants get promoted within their first 12 months - excellent bonus paychecks and a clear understanding of how to achieve them - complete transparency with Directors on how to secure a bonus and how much you can expect to receive - an job that truly rewards you for the hard work you put in! - flexible targets to ensure employees are given a fair chance for success no matter what market you're in and how much experience you have - an excellent working environment. We work hard but have fun doing it! - Page offers a lot of support to employees in order to achieve success - initiatives such as Women @ Page support employees to achieve the most they can - unlimited development opportunities with an excellent training program throughout your career - supportive management team that want you to succeed and be the best you can be - excellent leadership development program to ensure the management team are always adding value to their teams - a fun office – when you walk through the door you hear a lot of phone activity but also people laughing - we like to have fun as we work hard towards our targets!

      Cons

      - it’s a sales job, there is no room for negativity so if you’re having a down day, you need to leave it at the door

      Exceptional Recruitment Services

      Pros

Extremely welcoming, friendly, and fun work environment. Staff members really pride themselves on fostering long-term business relationships with clients and candidates of the like. The company is very professional in their efforts and offers exceptional recruitment services. They care about their customers and often times implement a very personal touch.

      Cons

The hours can be long but the rewards of the job and the company culture make up for it.

      Excellent Career Advancement Opportunities

Jan 17, 2018 - Senior Manager in New York, NY

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Working at Page has been an excellent experience that I would recommend to all driven, motivated and competitive individuals. Having started right out of college, there were many challenges and obstacles to overcome in learning recruitment and getting myself up to speed; however, with hard work and resilience I was able to build a career here which has led to 4 promotions in just under 4 years with the business. The company values its employees and rewards those who hit their targets. If you are consistent and performing well, you will have flexibility and reap the benefits of a performance based culture. The quarterly trips are always a great time in excellent locations. There are few organizations that allow for your base salary to exponentially increase (double/triple) over the span of a few short years like Page does. The working environment is fun and competitive. Plenty of opportunities to be recognized for excellent performances. Company culture is work-hard play-hard (i.e. fun incentives, quarterly parties, happy hours). The benefits are great (401k, vacation, medical). Most importantly, there is a ton of potential for career advancement and the ability to make a ton of money.

      Cons

No real cons, just be aware that recruitment is a tough job that requires resilience, determination and adaptability. Hours can be long in the beginning, but the company has gone in the right direction by fostering a performance based culture which allows for flexibility.

Great culture, fast paced, rewarding and supportive!

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great office space, clear path for promotion and amazing bonus & incentive program. Michael Page has continued to be a leader in the recruitment space providing consultative services to clients and candidates, which has in turn resulted to opportunities for the group to expand to new markets. Michael Page LA has gone through it's fair challenges as it's a relatively new / start-up operation, however, the leadership team has been making a great effort in fostering a positive work environment, providing; support, training & development, which goes a long way for someone who takes full advantage of it.

      Cons

In any sales / professional services business where you are tasked to source your own clients, establish your own relationships and manage the end-to-end sales cycle, there's a lot of work that needs to be done and therefore it takes a lot of time and investment in oneself to achieve the goals set forth by management. With the right attitude and good time management, one should be able to meet / exceed the goal and have a lot of flexibility.
