I worked at Palace Entertainment part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good for a first job, helps with basic skills like cash handling and customer service. Co workers are friendly and it's easy to make friends with them. Good flexible hours. Able to get days off.

    Cons

There's no air conditioning in the employee break room which can be hard since it's during summer. The machines are old and constantly break which makes the customer and employee upset. Not really that organized to be honest. Ugly uniforms. Customers can be hard to deal with But that's what you should expect working for customer service.

    Advice to Management

Invest in newer machines. A lot of customers and employees complain that the machines at turnstiles are not up to date.

I worked at Palace Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You gain great experience in customer service and learn to work around many different people

    Cons

Bad management.... that would be my top while I was working there I couldn't tell you the countless times I was harassed by my supervisors for stupid stuff, all the dumb tests they would do to me just to see if I would slip up so they would fire me that is probably my main complaint they need way better management they don't take care nor do they care about their employees you're pretty much just replaceable and you can tell with the way they treat employees. More than half the rides are broken and they will probably never be fixed ride operators can tell the mechanics over and over that the ride needs to be fixed something is wrong but they say it's fine when really it's not.. management will look for any little thing to write someone up about you can tell who is a favorite because management will just let them slide with anything I can go on and on... there's a reason they got sued and I'm not suprised

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees

I worked at Palace Entertainment part-time

    Pros

Opportunities to meet wonderful guests. A fun work environment at times. Diversity of tasks. Nice bosses. Abundance of hours available.

    Cons

Being asked to go above and beyond when making less than $9 an hour. If you do a good job, expect to do everyone else's job too. Little support from management during challenging situations. Job duties beyond entry level position. Long shifts and odd scheduling. Attendance policy more intimidating than a higher level job!

    Advice to Management

Value employee feedback. Value customer feedback. Recognize when some employees are working harder than others and appreciate them rather than devalue them. Be present more and don't expect the employees to represent you in conflict situations with customers.

    Pros

It is a really fun work environment and a great first job. A lot of great people worked there with me, and it was also a really good job for people watching.

    Cons

It gets really hot in the summer and walking around in wet clothes can lead to chaffing. The audits are also pretty stressful. It can get boring at times if you are assigned to the same area every day.
