I worked at Pall full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good people, pay and benefits, training, tools to perform tasks.

    Cons

Expect much from each employee, can often lead to too much time at work or travelling.

    Advice to Management

    Return to family oriented policies.

I have been working at Pall full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are some good people trying to make it work. Pall Corp does make money somehow.

    Cons

The good people trying to make it work are overshadowed by:
    1. Too many people running out the clock with 2-5 years before retirement.
    2. Unsupportive upper management. Both old Pall and Danaher that pay lip service to fixing real problems but never dig in to find root cause or actually do anything other than buzz words.
    3. Middle and lower management are scared and only manage upward. They tend to over promise then push the hell out of everyone below with crazy timescales, unworkable ideas and try to do everything on the cheap. The goal is to look like a hero, but it always fails. Insert new manager with new grand idea and repeat.
3.Ditch to ditch management style with constant turnover of upper management and idea's that go nowhere but down. Every new manager and idea only makes things worse, then they leave.
    3. Pall has a long history of low pay but expects high credentials and miracle results. So we get loaded with PhD and master's level dropouts that have never had a real job or couldnt hack it elesewhere. They get low pay for the credentials, so managers think they're getting a deal, but they get payed more than the appropriately credentialed group that is often more functional and carries the load. The useful people drop out of leave.

    Advice to Management

I don't know and you wouldn't listen if I did. There's more than enough information on how to run a company. Danaher has some well run opcos. No reasonable person expects perfection. What we have now is just awfull. Even if your just milking the cow for its last dollar, it could be done better. Milk it dry or run it well. Choose path, start today. No better time than now.

I worked at Pall full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Best Company. Nice Atmosphere to work,

    Cons

Since the Danaher acquisition they are going down on resources.

    Advice to Management

Top Management needs to get involve more and be patient with employees since the Danaher Acquisition

I worked at Pall full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Average Pay, Decent Benefits, Danaher Parent: Will hopefully bring discipline, accountability and performance based talent management to Pall MEG. Greater mobility may exist as ability to post out to other Danaher Op Co comes online.

    Cons

Long establish upper management allows dead wood to float around in the bldg. U.S. Sales and Marketing don't work as a team. New product development, which is CRUCIAL in the Semi Industry is rarely first to market and sales is not co-op'd into the process. Upper Management, R&D and Marketing may meet customer specs on NPD, but sales may not support the Strategic Product launch.

    Advice to Management

Team work must improve to allow R&D, MKT and Sales to have "One Mind." All departments must pull the rope in the same direction for MEG improved success. Customer first attitude must be baked into all NPD teamwork.

I worked at Pall (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Magnificent company to grow personally and professionally. Innovative, act with integrity, a good work environment that was present a few years ago. Interesting career plan.

    Cons

In some European countries where Pall is present, local leaders hinder the professional growth with the purpose to continue staying as leaders

    Advice to Management

It is more advice to top management of Pall (Danaher)if they read these sentences. Please pay attention and listen to the base directly (sales force, technical services, etc.) and not only the reports (appraisal, sales, pdp, etc.) of local middle management or of areas (sales director, marketing director, etc.). These gentlemen have never visited a client, they do not know the problematic of customers and do not know customers requirements. They are only afraid not to lose the position or the job

I worked at Pall (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A Danaher acquisition that was great for Pall. Danaher is making a good company better.

    Cons

The Pall management in Systems Sales needs to have a better understanding of what clients need and the ability to respond to those needs. The management team is prone to limiting innovation that would keep Pall as an industry leader
