    Pros

    - You get to network with people in and outside of your field
    - You can pick up skills that you don't get from the classroom

    Cons

    - Pressure employees to limit work hours so they don't have to pay them health insurance
    - Limited number of work hours but work is still expected to get done
    - Hold employees back for not having a college degree
    - Employees don't get proper training
    - Lack of advancement opportunities
    - Incompetent management
    - Low salary

    Advice to Management

Raise salary, provide on-the-job training, let employees who have outside health insurance work more hours

    Pros

Fulfilling to work with a diverse population of students. Primarily a stress-free job.

    Cons

Low pay. Application process is too treacherous for such a low-paying position. Several part-time employment opportunities so the college can conveniently not have to worry about full-time benefits for many hard working employees.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Palm Beach State College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Time off such as spring break and winter break. Ability to accrue vacation/sick time.

    Cons

Cliques, Nepotism, Favoritism, Racism. Upper management is predominantly white. HR is a joke, if you complain about the bad treatment from a supervisor you are guaranteed retaliation. Hiring committees are biased. Mediocre employees who have been on "probation" are holding positions until retirement, good employees are pushed out of the college out of jealousy. If you don't suck up to management you are considered insubordinate and a bad employee, then they will damage your reputation by using slander along with co-workers, making it impossible to move to any other department or even another campus. Minorities have a hard time moving up, they rather hire from outside instead of promoting from within; no good professional development for employees, high turnover. Lowest paying college in the area.

    Advice to Management

This whole place need some good "weed out" of bad seeds, starting with HR, Directors, and senior employees.
