Pros
I find it a very dynamic and supportive place to work. Schedules are very flexible and managers give employees a lot of freedom to balance work with personal obligations. And it’s very organized in terms of how projects are brainstormed and executed.
Cons
I honestly don’t have any major complaints, it’s a big improvement from the software company I worked at just prior.

Great place to work

- Salary at market or above - Benefits definitely above market - Culture based on values: helping people succeed in business. Ownership means it and lives it. - Flexibility about remote vs. office since Covid - Good transparency from ownership about performance - Many women in leadership position - Stable financial position
Cons
- Oregon weather is tough on Californians
- Former Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Horrible upper management, good health insurance
Dec 9, 2021 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Good health insurance - Lots of holidays off - Good teammates - Retros were nice - Team outings were fun
Cons
- Nepotism is strongly at work at this company - Upper management refused to listen to employee's problems causing low morale - Employee's weren't recognized for outstanding work or going above and beyond - CEO is unwilling to hear criticisms - The only people who seem to get rewarded are those who throw work/life balance out the window

Office isn't a priority with in office requirements and limitations; Lack of stuff to do outside of just doing the work there.

Customer support role review
Aug 10, 2021 - Software Customer Advocate in Eugene, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Very flexible especially for people with families, good healthcare and other benefits, lots of growth opportunities, work culture is overall positive and there is good transparency from management, decent work-life balance
Cons
"Like a family" translates to rampant favoritism/nepotism, not open to negotiating salary with employees who grow and take on new responsibilities
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Great company culture and teams!
May 27, 2021 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great company culture, caring team, and down to earth upper management. Honestly a blessing to work with everyone, and they are all so excited about the work they do.
Cons
Sometimes projects can be slow to get out, so if you’re used to a fast-paced environment this might feel a little more relaxed to you.
- Former Employee★★★★★

Best Job I've Ever Had!
Apr 7, 2017 - Web Developer in Eugene, ORRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Amazing employee benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Annual raises/bonuses, plenty of paid vacation days, bonus days off for the holidays. Even for holidays where it seems like everyone else is still at work! - Friendly coworkers, non-hostile workplace (in my experience) - Transparent workplace. Management does their best to remain transparent to us employees about situations that arise, as well as, answering any questions that we might have to the best of their ability. - The culture encourages innovation. Sometimes that can mean working from home occasionally to focus or have the flexibility of sprinkling in your work throughout the day. - Flexible work hours. Management is more than willing to be flexible with your availability (far more reasonable than other places I've worked at) as long as you get your work done.
Cons
- The office can be quiet around the winter holidays. I understand why some reviewers on here said it was boring. But at the same time, the scarcity was, in part, due to our old employee vacation process. Employees would all take off around christmas time, including leftover time because vacation days didn't roll over. This process has improved since that period of time.

Revolving door and culture of fear
Mar 14, 2017 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Free coffee? They don't have any perks better than any other tech company. Most tech companies in Eugene have better perks like ipads, phones, etc
Cons
When you join they tell you they will never let you go without going through a warning process. This is simply not true. Multiple people were let go let go in my time there. Since I left I have spoken to them and for almost all of them it was sudden. No warnings. CEO will tell everyone you were on probation even if this never happened. Not a professional culture and the company does not have a good reputation around town especially with other tech companies. Very boring place to work. Just walk inside and you will feel it. No office stimulation and everyone is quiet. No idea how they are still in business with the turnover rate and reputation problem.
Continue readingIt is always hard when an employee is not the right fit. We are very picky about our peers, and our culture is very purposeful and important to us. We strive to provide employees with a great place to work and the benefits we feel are important. If you are looking for free ipads and beer on tap, this is probably not the right place for you. If you are looking for great health care, including dental, vision and orthodontia , and paid maternity leave, paid paternity leave, 401k matching and a flexible workplace (among other benefits) then Palo Alto Software could be for you. Here is a link to all of our benefits: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1MAnyNu-MgCr0nNCnJiiH4BHjqCGVc1gjB2sxggiOECE/edit?usp=sharing Our workplace is all about empowering employees and focusing on results. This much autonomy can be hard for people and not the right culture for them. For people who want more hands-on management, and have a hard time in an environment where there is a lot of freedom to make decisions, our culture will be hard on them. We work very hard to be a great place for people to work at, and have many employees who have been here for over 10 years. We work really hard to make sure we hire people who are the right fit. We aren't perfect and are always striving to do better.
