I have been working at Pampered Chef as a contractor (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Unlimited opportunities to grow in the business

    Cons

No serious cons but would recommend home office to reconsider the rules for inactivity for consultants who may be temporarily disabled. See advice to management.

    Advice to Management

Recommend company reconsider rules regarding consultants who may be temporarily disabled. I had a consultant on had to purchase a new kit to restart the business because she was inactive due to temporary disability which meant she lost her career sales and commission level.

I have been working at Pampered Chef full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Interesting projects and ability to suggest and lead changes at all levels (not just top down direction)
    - Commitment to Professional Development
    - Support from co-workers and cross-team collaboration
    - Great business position to grow and be successful

    Cons

    - Vacation time and benefits isn't world-class but is reasonable
    - Given our aggressive goals and plans some days (and weeks) can be especially hectic and stressful

    Advice to Management

Continue to communicate on a regular basis. Monthly in-person co-worker meetings, weekly newsletters and regular department meetings are helpful to keep everyone engaged.

I have been working at Pampered Chef full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits
Supportive Of individual goals as well as business.
    Flexible hours
    Flexible work from home
Freedom to speak your mind and give constructive feedback.

    Cons

Changes are made for the better, but moving a bit fast.
Talent of some employees can be over used while others are under used.

    Advice to Management

A little more balance needed. Changes are made for the better, but moving very fast. Perhaps try not to be too reactionary to feedback and surveys. Easy to get caught up in dept. Success rather than company as a whole.

I have been working at Pampered Chef part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The Flexibility of the business is what drew me initially. The intrinsic as well as extrinsic rewards are endless. This company is shaking up and moving forward quickly with the changing market and technology of Direct Sales

    Cons

You have to be very self-disciplined. You are your own boss, which is also a benefit, but only you tell yourself what needs to be accomplished on a daily basis. Your hours are flexible, not optional.

    Advice to Management

The new management at the Home Office is outstanding. Tracy Britt-Cool is the CEO (Google her, she is Warren Buffet's protege').
