I have been working at Panduit full-time

    Pros

Friendly co-workers, work-life balance, support services

    Cons

Disorganized entry/orientation process, difficult integration/understanding of org structure and policies

    Advice to Management

I see improvements, the management team all needs to be on the same page with coherent and consistent direction. Each org is unique- it is difficult to understand without a primer

I worked at Panduit as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pricing managers are very professional and treat contingent workers with respect. The two pricing managers are great leaders and willing to assist any team member with their questions. The senior analysts are very helpful and are experts in their fields. Great team environment for direct hire employees.

    Cons

There was no clear path to permanent employment for contractors. Open Contract with the option to hire: results in no paid vacation or holidays and unpredictable scheduling during slow periods.

    Advice to Management

Develop a clear path to employment for contingent workers to permanent hire roles. Monthly evaluations of contingent workers for areas of improvement.

I have been working at Panduit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great reputation in the industry
    Global Organization with consistent growth
Good benefits- the employer contributions towards benefits are higher than most
Competitive pay, especially for suburbs (vs. city)
Strong commitment from the colleagues to the business- many individuals and whole families of people who have been here 20, 30 years
High investment in people- lots of training opportunities, large program around improving culture, lots of active engagement committees (both HR and employee-led)
    Family oriented
Location is great for those in the SW burbs of Chicago
    Environmentally friendly business
With the growth in play, lots of opportunities for people to try new things and/or build new skills through experiences

    Cons

Rather siloed business although self-aware about that and working to change
Not quite mature in some best practices expected for a business this size
Not a very diverse staff, especially at the mid-management to exec levels

    Advice to Management

Lots of hard work has been done to evolve the business to position for the next tier of growth. Celebrate those successes but don't stop- it's not a one and done. We have the strategy but who owns the operational blueprint to put it into action (roles & responsibilities, governance structures, cross-functional processes)?

I have been working at Panduit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Panduit invests heavily into its R&D department to ensure technical leadership in the industry and so that Panduit products always outperform the competitors. There is a lot of hands on work and different teams collaborate frequently to get the job done. The culture is such that new ideas are usually welcome too, so creativity and initiative are rewarded.

    Cons

Panduit is just under an hour (driving) outside of downtown Chicago, without traffic. If you want to live in the city and commute it can be rough. The compensation could also be higher in my opinion.

    Advice to Management

Panduit's biggest weakness is in name recognition outside of the industry I think. To attract the best new talent and biggest contracts I think a marketing campaign may be necessary.

The people are absolutely wonderful. Great 401K, good commute, flex time is great, plant manager is constantly on the floor talking with operators - good vibes all around

    Cons

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Overall a good company to work for and moving in the right direction. Restructuring their business strategy have created a culture of accountability, which it needed

    Cons

Too many cooks in the kitchen and many upper management conflicts that need to be resolved. Moving too fast as a company for where they would like to be in 5 years

    Pros

The flex time is awesome, if your department allows it! The people are great. Great company to work for in southwest suburbs.

    Cons

It's a boys club. Executives need to value employees more. Disappointed in the hiring process. Takes several weeks/months to get a job offer.

I have been working at Panduit full-time

    Pros

The company overall has good leadership (there are always a few, right?). Going through a cultural transformation - that if carried out, in a few years, the company will be in great shape. A few of those who still are resistance to change and have not bought into the C2 language and tools still need to go so momentum forward can be gained.

    Cons

The structure change of recent years to BU's has some jockeying for power vs. looking at what is best for the company and the customer. Roles and responsibilities are generally not understood well - ownership of key processes does not exist - that needs to be addressed through the C2 transformation - which will reduce the current issues related to how long it takes to make a decision and change how are systems work and how we do work for the benefit of the customer. Overall, a great time to be working at Panduit if you like a challenge and want to make an impact to driving the company to R2.

    Advice to Management

Continue to remove those that are not on board. Utilize some of the new leadership and ideas to empower the employees to get things done. Define key process owners to ensure change can be driven. Address individuals who are in roles that perhaps they do not have the skills to take us to the next level - not saying remove them - perhaps find an individual contributor role for them where their skills can be utilized. C2 must move forward!
