I have been working at Panduit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Panduit invests heavily into its R&D department to ensure technical leadership in the industry and so that Panduit products always outperform the competitors. There is a lot of hands on work and different teams collaborate frequently to get the job done. The culture is such that new ideas are usually welcome too, so creativity and initiative are rewarded.

    Cons

Panduit is just under an hour (driving) outside of downtown Chicago, without traffic. If you want to live in the city and commute it can be rough. The compensation could also be higher in my opinion.

    Advice to Management

Panduit's biggest weakness is in name recognition outside of the industry I think. To attract the best new talent and biggest contracts I think a marketing campaign may be necessary.

The people are absolutely wonderful. Great 401K, good commute, flex time is great, plant manager is constantly on the floor talking with operators - good vibes all around

    Cons

Hiring process was long. Took months to hear back

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing and still make an effort to engage the employees.

I have been working at Panduit part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Continually growing at a better than market pace. Gaining share from competition, earning customer preferences and remaining competitive in a difficult market

    Cons

Sometimes this growth comes at the expense of good people that have given their entire careers to the company. The Quality of some products have suffered due to globalization

    Advice to Management

Get back to your roots when the employee truly felt like the company's greatest asset.

    Pros

Excellent company. Professional, dedicated to training, dedicated to excellence. Good pay package, insurance and 401K

    Cons

My experience with management overall was excellent. However in 2008 they had a new national sales manager whom I found hard to work with. He is no longer with the company.

    I worked at Panduit full-time

    Pros

Good work-life balance, good pay, good opportunities for training.

    Cons

Very, very political, super-conservative, yes-man friendly. Performance is rarely recognized if not accompanied by correct political moves. Management/supervisor protection is mandatory. Stepping on toes is deadly.

    Advice to Management

Clear the deck and bring in outside people. Welcome unique ideas and thinkers. Encourage innovation. Create much more diversity it upper management; minorities and women. Values are given air-time but not followed in practice.

    Pros

Overall a good company to work for and moving in the right direction. Restructuring their business strategy have created a culture of accountability, which it needed

    Cons

Too many cooks in the kitchen and many upper management conflicts that need to be resolved. Moving too fast as a company for where they would like to be in 5 years

I worked at Panduit (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The building is nice

    Cons

The leadership team has no interpersonal skills. They seem to be frightened of people.
The HR team is a disaster and highly incompetent
The company lacks any innovation spirit
Safety in their manufacturing plants is really not a priority

    Advice to Management

Start questioning the HR leadership team : why is there so much turn over in the HR team? Maybe Managing people like in the 70s is not the most appropriate anymore.

    Pros

Nice building, cool cafeteria, opportunity for overtime.

    Cons

EXTREMELY micro-managed. Like, monitor how much time you are taking on your bathroom break, mico-managed. They are always pulling you into a room to review your recorded phone calls. "You need to say MAY I", etc. Would genuinely get nervous pulling into work every morning. CEO sent out random email about not liking Obama? It was weird.....
