I have been working at Panduit full-time

    Pros

Enjoying the private company perspective. They have established a growth strategy along with a cultural transformation. The change is slow, however, "most" of the leadership is on board. A company that invests in their employees - you just have to have the initiative to invest in your own development. Overall benefits are good - not many company's provide profit sharing these days. Health benefits are excellent along with schedule flexibility. World class facility along with the proper tools to do your work.

    Cons

Historically promotions have been a result of rewarding who you know. As a result some of those in leadership and management positions may not be placed in the right position to drive the organization to the future. Changes will need to be made - doing so may move the cultural change forward. Pay while fair, may not be as competitive beyond the base salary - bonus, long term pay, cell phone coverage, etc. lacking. Diversity and Inclusion - significant gaps. Long overdue for a program. A quick look a the organization charts and it is very clear, the company is white male dominated thinking - at all levels of leadership and management. This too, is a barrier to change.

    Advice to Management

Expand Strategy beyond the Growth Initiatives. Address the leaders, managers that are preventing change - the majority of the organization is on board. Management training on how to treat and value employees to drive some consistency and respect for all positions within the organization.

I have been working at Panduit full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Team environment, no-one is too high level to be approachable

    Cons

    Change directions, sometimes too reactive

    Advice to Management

Change is a good thing and Panduit is instilling good change, but change takes time and does not happen overnight. Settle in on a plan and realize year 1 goal may not be where you want it but year two should start to move in the right direction in the right strategy

I have been working at Panduit part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Panduit is a unique place to work because it is private, yet it is global and large scale. Our strategies and tactics are not driven and designed to react to daily stock market performance. The decision lens is tuned to long term results, innovation and quality. Panduit also has many tenured employees. This is the result of the shared sense of ownership you get when you work at Panduit and the desire to see this company have long term success.

    Cons

Decision rights can be a struggle as the organization still works through being Business Unit lead. A work from home policy/flex schedule is needed to make recruiting easier. It is currently per individual manager's discretion.

    Advice to Management

Panduit leadership should continue to reward employees with profit sharing and attractive salaries and find ways to develop talent and promote within. This produces long term loyalty and dedicated employees that tie their drive and achievements to the successes of Panduit. Employee shareholder options would be a great benefit to consider to help retain and attract talent.

I have been working at Panduit full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Panduit has been the best corporation to be a part of. The culture around the company is incredible, the people are helpful and each department collaborates together. You will see the CEO walking around, eating lunch in the cafeteria and he wants to be involved in day to day operations -- how many other people can say that about the company they work for?? Probably not a lot. Coming to Panduit was the best choice that I made and I absolutely love this company.

    Cons

I have nothing negative to say.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing -- it's working :) You have happy employees who love coming to work everyday!!

I have been working at Panduit full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Focus on culture will lead to results and not the other way around. Bottom up more than top down directives. Company goals are shared along with status for constant updates.

    Cons

Since a five word minimum is required for this field, no employee exit onto NB 80th avenue from world headquarters is allowed.

    Advice to Management

Continue open communication of goals, current state and plans to surpass goals.

I worked at Panduit as a contractor

    Pros

    Great diversity environment.
Worked through contract as an analyst for less than a year.
    Good and supportive team members.
Nice cafeteria with awesome working envirnonment at Tinley Park.
    Some good and supportive managers.

    Cons

Limited opportunities to transition into full time role if employed as contractor
No paid time off, holidays, sick leaves or benefits when contracting
Absolutely no job security as a contractor

    Advice to Management

Good company with strong understanding of diversity and supportive working team members. It was a pleasure to be part of the pricing transfomation team but as a contractor there was no opportunity for long term nor any kind of job security.

Leadership resigned and suddenly there was chaos resulting in team members been reassigned to different teams and sadly the contractors were laid off.

My advice to leadership is to establish strong and consistent vision and mission to guarnatee job security and also create opportunity and development for the company's non-management employees and contractors. That may go a long way!

    Pros

Good work/life balance, good pay, good benefits, growing company in a growing field

    Cons

Your working life is totally at the mercy of your manager. Get a good one and life is great. Get a weak, micromanaging, timid one, and life is bad!

    Advice to Management

Look at breaking up the old boys network that is keeping the company rooted in the 1950's.
