I worked at Panera Bread part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Met some awesome people, discount on food

    Cons

Super Busy, understaffed, underpaid, come home smelling like food

    Advice to Management

For super busy stores don't neglect the staff working by focusing too much on labor. Have enough employees working so everyone doesn't have to work like dogs.

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Warm customer service with friendly customers in a wonderful environment.
Close family-like work space with lovely associates and management.

    Cons

No way to get feedback from the cafe floor to corporate Panera Bread. I would love it if there were a way for us to get ideas about improvements to the higher ups.

    Advice to Management

Implement a way to open a line of communication between Panera associates and cafe management to Corporate Management and people who make the policies.

I worked at Panera Bread part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Generally good people and good food, and fairly simple tasks most of the time. 60% discount on any item made or sold.

    Cons

Time constraints and unclear responsibilities so you end up doing more than you're supposed and worked half to death for what is usually inadequate pay. I only got a $0.25 raise once despite three years and one promotion.

    Advice to Management

Maybe actually care about your employees instead of mistreating them.

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great Coworkers
    - Free Drinks
    - Decent Hours (Usually)
    - Donations to the Community

    Cons

    - Next to no mobility.
    - Call out sick at your own peril.
    - Raises are almost non-existent.
    - Revolving door of employees and management, usually new hires from outside on the latter.
    - No breaks unless you work 8+ hours, and even then it's a 'maybe' or 'we'll try' with no other word on the matter.
    - Associates are usually expected to work several positions at once.
    - Constant procedure and menu changes (at least every quarter) upset customers regularly.

    Advice to Management

It's not just about labor and positions being filled, if you don't provide any -constructive- criticism , give raises to notable employees, or promote from inside, you're going to lose your core team. The numbers only get worse from there. Invest in them, and it'll bring more profit than any cut will. Also, sometimes people get sick. Being sick around food is bad. Cut them some slack when they have to call out.

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Panera is one of the faster-growing companies in the stock market at the moment. Investing in Panera is a pro.
Relatively organized website to view your own employee information (payslips, tax documents, coupons, etc.)

    Cons

Like every other food service restaurant, most places can be described as mismanaged with a general lack of communication and sense of teamwork. But if you want better workers, pay them better,

    Advice to Management

If you want better workers, either bump up current, hard-working employee's hourly rates, or simply hire better workers.
