    Pros

The company provides an excellent work/life balance. The store closes at 9:00 p.m. so there are no late nights, which makes it very conducive to family life. They do not have alcohol sales so you are able to avoid the associated problems of dealing with intoxicated patrons. The company is doin well financially and is one of very few restaurant chains to be growing in this economy. As a result you feel secure in your employment at a time when many fear cutbacks and layoffs.

    Cons

    the limitations of general manager

    Advice to Management

more opportunities to assess the managers

    Pros

Cleanest restaurant I ever worked in!!!

    Cons

It is an entry level position so the pay is low, but the company expands like crazy so if you are patient and dilligent you may be promoted from within.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Made great money once I was put into final position and received regular feedback on how I was doing within the company.

    Cons

Took a long time to reach the pay that I felt I was entitled to, spent a good two years to reach.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and always give feedback to the employees, managers and hourlys alike. Communication is the best defense against turnover.

    Pros

-If you work hard, your going to make money. Associates complain about not making enough money but they can get raises for being made a trainer and getting promoted. We're always looking for shifts.
    -Hours, 45/week
    -Advancement opportunity
    -Great co-workers
    -Awesome regulars
    -Gives back to community

    Cons

-Customers can be bratty and rude
-Hard to keep the morale up sometimes; no matter how hard I work to support and help it seems like a small group of associates wants to be negative all the time and that affects the rest of the staff

    Pros

The hours are flexible, especially depending on the employee's position within the company and what else that the employee has going on in his/her life. All of the staff are friendly and love to get to know new employees and show them the ropes. Also, if one is persistent enough and continues to tell management that they want to learn more, then they can be trained in other positions around the cafe-bakery, which will give them an opportunity to move up in the company.

    Cons

Sometimes there can be issues with communication, and when the cafe-bakery is short staffed, this can add much stress to all of the staff. Depending on the location, there can be an abundance of turnover, although I have not personally witnessed much with the cafe-bakery location that I work at.

    Pros

Panera is very particular about who they hire and especially with their management teams which is a good thing. The company is very pro-active, evolving, and open-minded, therefore it is these attributes that they look for in their management personnel as well as in the employees they hire which results in a very comfortable and friendly work environment.

    Cons

Fast paced, which is not always a bad thing. It just means that you have to be able to utilize common sense, time management, attention to detail, a positive an enthusiastic approach to your work and a willingness to go above and beyond for the consumer. It's also important always have a sense of urgency, this helps you to insure that you will complete all your work in a timely manner and finish with in the scheduled shift you have been assigned. In other works, stay focused on your work, stay positive, organized, and friendly.......If you can do this, then not only can you work successfully at Panera, but you will also have opportunity for growth and advancement.
