    I worked at Panera Bread full-time

    Pros

    Free food as an assistant manager, and pretty much the only good part of working was the free food.

    Cons

    Salaried at 45 hours and expected to work 60, no work life balance, understaffed, overworked, stressful atmosphere, unrealistic daily appearance expectations (food service in acrylic nails and heels?!), untrained aggressive management, low morals in the name of saving food cost, would make you pick things up from others stores before and after shifts on a regular basis and you were not paid for it, could move you to any location no matter how far from your home

    Advice to Management

    Get it together. This is why your turnover is so high.

    Great pay and certain benefits

    Cons

    Worked there over 10 years. Recently was injured on the job and being totally jerked around. Everything is my fault... higher ups believe my boss. That he has given me support and extra time. NEVER!!!!!has he done this.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to us regular people. Nine times out of 10 we are telling the truth

    I worked at Panera Bread part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The only "pro" about this company is the food discount during/before/after your shift.

    Cons

    The management is highly unprofessional, condescending, vulgar, rude, untrained, and irresponsible.
    The hours are ridiculous, and they schedule you based on your availability, regardless of how many hours you told them you can work. So, if you are available 5 days out of the week but said you can only work 20-25 hours a week, be prepared to work at least 30+ hours per week. No matter how many times you remind them of your time constraints, they never listen to your schedule request(s).
    Employees, particularly those who have been there a while, are, like the managers, terribly unpleasant. They are unhelpful, unwilling to teach, and complain about everything instead of fostering a communal working environment.
    There is little to no hands on training.
    Very disorganized layout.
    Serious lack of communication from the register and down the line.
    Loads of childish bullying from the management and senior employees.
    Moving up in this company is absolutely impossible.

    Advice to Management

    Take some training classes on how to be effective and approachable. Stop complaining like five year olds. Stop making employees pick up your slack. Stop mocking and bullying your employees. Set better examples for the workplace environment. Stop constantly playing on your cellphones and get to work instead. Stop getting aggressive and emotional when a new employee, who has received little to no training, asks you a simple question. If you can pander and kiss-up to your superiors, you can show some mutual self-respect and friendliness to your hard-working staff.

    Best company I've worked for in my 30 years of the business!!

    Not necessarily a down side, sometimes it feels like we change things, then figure it out.

    Pros

    Coworkers are friendly and its mostly a family unit. Work with schedule.

    Cons

    Not enough pay for amount of work, they cut many hours, management makes incorrect decisions at times and does not help. They take the "customer is always right" notion too seriously at times and customers know this so they manipulate our system to get free things just by complaining.

    Advice to Management

    Treat associates with a little more respect if you want respect in return. Make correct decisions for situations, if you want cut people. Atleast come help the food line when we are slammed without the proper help.

    Pros

    I like having fellow staff that I enjoy working with. Delicious food choices to have on break and I have better knowledge of certain things like different breads , pastries , and how to make recipes

    Cons

    Busy all the time, rude management, taking a long time to close, not very considerate of your schedule or needs. No benefits. Find myself paying a lot for food when I work.

    Don't be so inconsiderate and pay more attention
