    GREAT People, AMAZING Opportunities!

    Pros

The people! They are awesome. All of them - which is not something I am used to, but it has been an amazing experience. Everyone is accessible, willing to help, answer questions, and genuinely wants to make you feel like part of the Pangea family. There is a ton of opportunity here for someone looking to expand their skillset and keep growing professionally - leadership heavily believes in the importance of giving their employees the autonomy to do their work and the ability to take full ownership of it, while also tackling projects collaboratively with other internal teams. No drama - one of the top values here - and it has proven to hold up! The company has about 41 employees, which means you will make an impact, no matter what the role may be. You definitely cannot hide - but you also get to work on things that you currently aren't. Growth and development are huge pillars of the culture here, which is laid back and fun! Ablity to learn something new every single day.

    Cons

None that specifically come to mind - we all come in, work hard, and hope to continue learning, developing our personal skill-sets, and growing within the company itself.

Innovative and rewarding place if you are willing to put in the effort

    Pros

Pangea is a relatively small company (less than 50 people as of the time of writing this review), but it delivers strong products. Management is passionate about building the next big thing to help immigrants and the underbanked community with their financial needs. The company has a real startup culture: work hard, play hard. No one is watching exactly when you come in or leave the office: what matters is getting stuff done.

    Cons

This is not a 9-5 job. As in any startup, you are expected to invest a lot of effort to be successful. Catching up on work on weekends or after hours doesn't happen too often, but it happens. That said, work life balance is decent, and the company rewards hard workers.

    Good people, dedicated to growth

    Pros

    - great company culture; people work hard but dont take themselves too seriously, extremely cross-functional/collaborative - continuously taking chances and looking for big growth opportunities while staying very grounded in the company's mission - everyone has the ability to make an impact, and the size of that impact is pretty much open to you. You want an opportunity? They'll give you one

    Cons

    - some gaps in resources/organizational structure. You may be asked to do things outside your job description; not uncommon in startups but some may not be as open to this, which does seem to have resulted in higher turnover - The office. Its not a BAD office; its pretty great location and the company manages the space well, but the building/space itself feels limiting sometimes

Really smart people on a mission.

    Pros

It is a really smart group of folks. Conversations are quick as its a well rounded group focused on the team's goal. Even though everyone works hard and takes pride in their work, its a bunch of nice people who actually care about each other. I love working at a company that's actually doing some good in the world, offering better and fair financial products to the underbanked.

    Cons

Its a start up, so there's a need to be flexible and take initiative.

Fearless Innovation Driven By Movers & Shakers

    Pros

Employees are afforded the opportunity to become a Subject Matter Expert in their own space while simultaneously working in a team collaborative effort to achieve goals. The dream team feeling is contagious because the people are great - accountability and team work! This is a start-up/small sized company and people do wear many hats, but that gives you the power to learn new skills and take ownership of your professional development. You can't hide or go unnoticed here like in the monster corporation model, but your work actually makes an impact. If you were that kid in school who always got stuck doing all the work in the group project and didn't like Slackers on your team - this is the place to be! These people are refreshingly driven .

    Cons

Lots of free snacks ...it sounds like a pro, but it sometimes it isn't.

Great opportunity to be part of an organization with social impact.

    Pros

+ The people who work here are all great, and very committed to the mission of the organization. + As a small company, Pangea often affords its employees the opportunity to gain experiences in areas other than their primary function. + Very "no-drama" culture, where the team works together but is still willing to hold each other accountable.

    Cons

    - The office space leaves something to be desired.

    Toxic and Unprofessional Work Environment

    Aug 14, 2018 - Anonymous Employee

    Business Outlook

    Pros

No one really monitors what anyone is doing, so if you're looking for an easy job and can talk yourself up when they have meetings for the sake of meetings, you'll be great.

    Cons

Senior leadership doesn't seem to know how to direct the company. The product has a LOT of flaws and they just apply bandaid fixes. Management is really great at self promoting and not actually supporting any of their staff. They tend to just fire people if managers receive any form of pushback (or any opinions at all really), then they just re-hire for that position. Lots of people leave as well so the company is basically just a revolving door. Leadership makes sexist remarks and are incredibly unprofessional. A lot of the tenured people do no work at all but take a lot of the credit and talk about how busy and stressed they are. Toxic work environment.
