I have been working at Papa John's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, family-like friendly staff, open to suggestions, best pay (I know bc I researched and plus I worked for another top three pizza chain for two years prior). (Papa johns actually tells customers over and over the delivery is not a tip) and they pay their drivers both gas and enough for wear and most tear of vehicles. (Depending on what u drive. For example drive a tractor trailer to deliver ur not getting tractor trailer gas prices lol)

    Cons

Sometimes u need to speak up and say hey I need this or that but truly they do their best to ALWAYS address areas of concern and make you feel worth it. Anyone who doesn't play a good role, has bad attitude, doesn't usually get to work there. So smile 😊😊😊🚙🚕🚗

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Dedicated to fresh hot pizza with the finest ingredients is one thing, but truly, they are also highly dedicated to their customers and their employees. When they say join the Papa John's FAMILY, they mean it.

I have been working at Papa John's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay is good for a single individual or someone with a small family . It's good to get a food discount or even free if you feel like it . Make your own schedule in a way but you have to work at least 50 hours a week

    Cons

Stressful , high turnover rate , too much to do with very little time , work 60+ hours a week at any given week just to run numbers or cut down on labor cost . Have to deal with customer complaints and reply within 24 hours . A lot of deadlines with very little time to do it . Also may have to do work at home like complete work schedules or customer complaints

    Advice to Management

You can't look at numbers you have to be there to understand why things are ran the way they are . Need more labor hours and need to pay all employees more

I have been working at Papa John's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I get paid daily as a driver, & also receive my check every week. My Gm works with my schedule and gives me time off when I request it. 50% discount on the menu.

    Cons

You will run down your car if you deliver full time. It's always a good idea to set aside money for repairs just in case something happens and you can not work to make the money to fix it because you rely on your car to make money.

    Advice to Management

I think drivers should be given a higher delivery reimbursement while delivering in high traffic times. Traffic slows us down and runs down gas.

I have been working at Papa John's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    It's a job.
    Flexible Hours.
Taking a management position typically means taking a huge pay cut, however good opportunity for advancement.

    Cons

In store pay is minimum wage, when you go out on a delivery it drops to $4.25 an hour.
Raises only apply to in store pay.
401k is pushed on you hard, but it is one of the worst in the market.

    Advice to Management

Corporate needs to make some changes to employee benefits. Raises should apply to in store and on the road pay. Change your 401k.

I have been working at Papa John's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Easy job
-Relatively relaxed environment (location to location)
    -Money can be great
    -Flexible hours
    -Decent benefits

    Cons

-Money can be not so good
    -Long hours
    -Really late hours
-Can be relatively dangerous (depending on location of store)
-Inside workers don't make nearly as much as they should

    Advice to Management

Really consider that it takes more than one person to do a lot of the extra work and closing work. Seniority favor was a huge problem.

    Pros

Good company values morals, flexible schedule if needed, some benefits.

    Cons

HSL don't get raises often, if at all. I believe HSL's should start at a higher wage and have more opportunities for a raise.

I have been working at Papa John's part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good work life balance. A lot of the stores are like a kind of family unit. The pay in my opinion is not like any other restaurant that comparable business type. If you put in the effort, you can learn a lot, especially if you have a good management core. If you work hard you will be successful. You can make a career out of it, and do VERY well.

    Cons

If you are in a higher volume store, you will work hard. you will work with people sometimes that don't want to do their share and you have to take up the slack. Sometimes the goals for management are not necessarily realistic, but you understand what they want.

    Advice to Management

Try not to make personnel decisions on desperation. Praise your team when they do something right. Show them the correct way when they do something wrong. Team development does not stop after they have finished the monthly training. Don't have a team member do something you are not willing to do yourself. Lead by example.

I have been working at Papa John's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours are pretty good. They work with my school schedule which is probably the only reason i'll stay at the job. I can make a little extra change and still work on my studies.

    Cons

The pay as a delivery driver is just okay. At the end of the day you get compensated for mileage as well as tips, but even on the busiest day I work I only get about 25-30 bucks, which is pretty much just enough to pay for gas and that's it. I barely have any pocket change left over. I also NEVER get out on time, no matter how hard I try. I always leave about an hour later, which is good for hours I guess, but not when I have places to be.

    Advice to Management

Management is doing an okay job.
