    I worked at Papa John's part-time

    Pros

If you need money quick it's a good choice.

    Cons

Half of your money will go to your gas tank and repairing your car so its not worth it.

    Advice to Management

    Let people off on time

I have been working at Papa John's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-If you have a good gm you will succeed in your career choices.
-full time employees get great benefits.
-it can be super fun if you have a great team that works together.
-fast advancement. ( in my case I became a shift manager within 6 months.) if you are strong about what you want these people will help you get there.
-you get to eat pizza (depending on GM and DO) 50% off
-(personal opinion) their dough, thin crust and wings are better then other competing companies.

    Cons

-you don't get breaks. (That may not be the case at other stores)
    -drivers are walked all over.
-employees are almost always lazy if your in a bad location.
-the need for management and drivers leave everyone exhausted.
    -turnover rates are beyond ridiculous.
-the customers can be incentive. And just out right rude.
-personally I have opened the store without drivers for 5 hrs.. because of call outs.
-at my location there is no course of action on people that no show no call, show up late consecutively, or cuss out customers and throw pizza at them.

    Advice to Management

DO's need to be more involved with the stores that are struggling!

Training management needs to be taken seriously.

Time management needs to be taught better. No one likes slapping gross over proofed dough.

Don't promote some one to gm when they have only managed shifts for a year. These people are the people management and other employees are supposed to look up to. And if they are not fit to deal with customers on a regular basis then they are not fit to deal with a store full of employees.

    Make it easier to transfer.

I have been working at Papa John's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay is good for a single individual or someone with a small family . It's good to get a food discount or even free if you feel like it . Make your own schedule in a way but you have to work at least 50 hours a week

    Cons

Stressful , high turnover rate , too much to do with very little time , work 60+ hours a week at any given week just to run numbers or cut down on labor cost . Have to deal with customer complaints and reply within 24 hours . A lot of deadlines with very little time to do it . Also may have to do work at home like complete work schedules or customer complaints

    Advice to Management

You can't look at numbers you have to be there to understand why things are ran the way they are . Need more labor hours and need to pay all employees more

    Pros

Scheduling is very flexible. The job is very easy anyone can do it and the pizza is free most of the time.

    Cons

    Hard work and little pay.

I have been working at Papa John's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    It's a job.
    Flexible Hours.
Taking a management position typically means taking a huge pay cut, however good opportunity for advancement.

    Cons

In store pay is minimum wage, when you go out on a delivery it drops to $4.25 an hour.
Raises only apply to in store pay.
401k is pushed on you hard, but it is one of the worst in the market.

    Advice to Management

Corporate needs to make some changes to employee benefits. Raises should apply to in store and on the road pay. Change your 401k.

I worked at Papa John's (More than a year)

    Pros

The money itself wasn't bad but that's because of tips. I was on the road, could listen to music and go at my own pace when it wasn't busy.

    Cons

You rely on customers to be able to pay your bills. Papa John's only pays you a small amount for the gas you use. When you're on the road, you get $4.25 per hour. Unless you could find something else, I wouldn't recommend it.

    Advice to Management

If management cared about the employees at all, things would go a lot smoother.

    Pros

You get free pizza, some of the people you work with are nice, they work with your school schedule but it's really good for high schoolers

    Cons

You get bad hours and you don't get any break. The management sucked and you get below minimum wage

    Advice to Management

Please you need to check on the store manager, and don't forget where you started from too

    Pros

Most of my co-workers were hard workers and worked with me as a team. We communicated well and when there was an issue with a customer, usually we could handle it and fix it.

    Cons

The boss' management style always had me walking on egg shells. I couldn't tell if he was in a bad mood due to his sarcasm and when he got mad, he got very mad. He would yell, throw pizzas (into the trash) and almost broke a chair. A customer once commented on his attitude as being a jerk and that (employees) shouldn't have to put up with that. This manager was eventually promoted to corporate which baffles me.

    Advice to Management

If you're going to work in food, be prepared for people to make mistakes and know how to handle your anger and stress even when the store is busy.

    Pros

I enjoyed the people I worked with and I for the most part enjoyed the work. Throwing out the dough was definitely the best option of the jobs in the store.

    Cons

It was too busy and the only times they would schedule me to work were on Friday and Saturday nights.

    Advice to Management

It was a corporate store and the management did not have the right incentives to run a quality store besides when a corporate checkup was coming.
