    Amazing company solid standards across the board. Quality product was always non negotiating . I have never worked for a company who went to such great lengths to ensure consistency and greatness were continually reflected in the food they served, but in the staff, and even the building itself. This is a company that not only speaks about giving the guest the best experience... They fully back it up. They invest so much...

    Cons

    Very few. The hours can be long, and working most weekends ase it hrs to see my family. As the company grows, I hope that Pappas I was raised in doesn’t get lost

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the Pappas Standards that made you love the company when you first got hired. Never allow yourself lose sight of the corerstone focuses that differentiate Pappas from other restaurants. The guest experience and a product that is never less than the best. Continue treating your staff with the same level of respect you ask them to give the guests.

    Pros

    Scheduled out by 6pm 5 days a week. Quality product, experienced staff, great systems in place, all the tools needed to succeed are accessible.

    Cons

    Volume restaurant, during the busy season it's impossible to leave on time. I would regularly work 70 hours a week during the busy season.

    Advice to Management

    If you make it to GM, you have it made financially. Otherwise, get used to making around 50K with virtually no bonus and somewhere between a 2 and 3 percent pay increase every 6 months.

    You can learn a lot from this company. They are very organized and have procedures for everything. There is always room for advancement.

    Cons

    You are required to work a lot of hours. Unless you are a general manager, you will most likely have to work evening shifts.

    Pros

    Standards driven, commitment to quality, outstanding training program. It is a restaurant so all opportunities come with the industry standard crazy schedule. Very deliberate in doling out responsibility based on tenure.

    Cons

    Always 10-15 years behind trends in technology and efficiency. Constant innovation is part of the mission statement but innovation is discouraged if not forbidden at the store level. Too many managers required for each store, creates too much diffusion of responsibility and bonuses are impossible to obtain due to arbitrary criteria.

    Advice to Management

    Cut down the size of management teams, increase salaries of management. Create mandatory rotating weekends off, management quality of life varies depending on GM's arbitrary discretion when making schedules.

    Hires young professionals to run restaurants and does a great job teaching time management, purchasing, labor management, staff development, guest relations

    Cons

    extreme and long hours. company offers limited ways to move up. only room for few people at the top and salaries are relatively low. values extremely driven individuals, no room for introverts. bonuses are based on group performance, not individual so therefore they are not earned very often. benefits are ok.

    increase benefits based on tenure for managers.

    Pros

    Great food, excellent product, and they will teach you every aspect of being a restaurant manager. It is a fun, exciting job.

    Cons

    Long hours without eating, on your feet a lot. They expect a lot out of you. They aren't very respectful to their staff.

    Advice to Management

    There needs to be more positive reinforcement from senior management. The job is stressful, and it doesn't help to have unrealistic expectations placed on you.
