    Pros

    As a server: Fast cash Scheduling Chances to advance As a Supervisor: Decent staring hourly rate Vacation time Bonus Benefits Room for advancement

    Cons

    As a Server: Don't work you don't make money Money varies based on business Sections based on management favoritism As a Supervisor: Very long hours Mostly night shifts Are given extra responsibilities but not a pay raise to go with the extra work Benefits aren't great and expensive Terrible work life balance

    Advice to Management

    Corporate says that if you call and speak to them about an issue it will stay between the two of you and your GM will not know and that is not true AT ALL. Don't asked your Supervisors to do the work of the Managers but refuse to give them a raise. You say school comes first but I have been forced by my GM to miss class because "the restaurant needed me here".

    The work isn't very difficult as long as you've served before and have a patient head.

    Cons

    Nights can be late, and money isn't very consistent. Not performance based so not alot of room to move up.

    Depending on management on your location, the work environment can be absolutely wonderful or completely dreadful. I’ve worked with great managers who are out there on the floor with their employees helping and encouraging; then I’ve worked with managers who just stand there barking orders everyday.     Cons

    Managers won’t allow you to work 35-40 hours a week because they are too concerned about getting in trouble with the higher ups if you get overtime, so they might cut you or send you home without notice.

    Have better communication and understanding with your employees that you know work hard.

    Good money when there's a banquet

    Cons

    Managers who take their anger out on your schedule, gossipy and rude staff, hostesses made to do busser's job when they won't.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more bussers, let the general manager make the schedules because the individual managers WILL take advantage. Also, give double shifts a proper meal, not off the children's menu. If you're working a double, you need enough food to feed an adult, that isn't fried.

    very flexible schedule...can work as little or as much as you'd like (up to 40 hours a week)

    Cons

    possibility of putting in so much work for no little to no gratuity...also, no cap on tip pool, and no automatic gratuity applied to guest check...

    Advice to Management

    ...look out more for the servers, as far as getting stiffed!
