I worked at Pappasito's Cantina part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement (HUGE pro, this helped me graduate), great training, management development programs, room for growth, weekly meetings with genuine input from all levels of management taken seriously, good pay for the job title, easy place to network and plenty of promotion opportunities.

    Cons

You have to work in the service industry, long hours (14+ hour shifts are common), late nights if you're closing

    Advice to Management

Honestly this was the best opportunity I had before I graduated college. Just keep treating people like you treated me and everything will be great

I have been working at Pappasito's Cantina full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This place has excellent training programs, especially for those that are first time servers
The staff and management show a high level of professionalism while still keeping it a relaxing atmosphere
The restaurant is very well maintained and shows the company exudes pride in their business
Everyone makes you feel welcome, whether you are a new or seasoned employee
    Advancement paths are readily available
Teamwork is very strong with this company
The company has a positive image with tons of growth potential and appears to be expanding further and further

    Cons

-Work can be stressful at times when you get busy traffic or excessively demanding customers, but that is part of the industry and generally means you will be taking more money home that day.
-This specific restaurant (maybe other locations too) can be a little tight on space and difficult to maneuver around as a server
-Pay isn't the best but it is standard. Unless you have the time and commitment to move up in the restaurant industry it is not ideal for sustainable income in the long-term.

    Advice to Management

Nothing I can think of.... The management team does a great job and the general manager especially is awesome and gets along very well with all staff.

    Pros

It's a great work environment with positive management and staff. It's always a fun time working with creative spirits to accomplish goals.

    Cons

You only get $2.13/hr but tips can more than make up for that if you work hard and stay positive.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work!! You make working at a restaurant feel like being a part of a sports team.

I worked at Pappasito's Cantina (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Being a student at the time, they really do well with working around your schedule. In the two locations I had worked in over the years, I always ran into friendly staff. There is always potential to grow and move up in the company.

    Cons

Each manager seemed to have their own agenda and ways for handling situations that would counteract with others. Despite whatever time your shift ended, you are still required to stay until your manager confirms that all your shiftwork has been complete, which sounds reasonable until they start assigning shifwork and cleanups after your ending shift time.

    Advice to Management

Please be more organized when it comes to dealing with the front of the house staff. Please detail exactly what each server needs to do before their shift starts, and not add to it after they are scheduled to leave.

I worked at Pappasito's Cantina part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great tips
I was working part time and always earned a little over 1000 a month.
    In-depth training

    Cons

Servers are very dramatic, BOH is where it's at
Management was terrible, in fact it's the reason I left
Finite closing times printed on the front of the building (and online!) but they always made me stay open an hour or 2 past closing times just about everyday except Saturday because it's a slow day. This was very frustrating considering it took the same amount of time to clean my station , find a ride (I didn't have a car at the time and they knew this), and wake up the next morning to do it all over again.
My station being the only one open in the whole terminal of course we'd get slammed with last minute people, which are the worst people to deal with at what was supposed to be the end of your shift. So it was almost always me, by myself, taking dozens of last minute orders. Not only is this a strain on me it's a strain on the kitchen and it's a strain on the person working the station in the AM as things wouldn't be stocked properly from running out from the completely avoidable slam.

    Advice to Management

    Be more considerate
Stay consistent with closing times, we have lives outside of work!
Managers need more extensive training or to be chosen by a higher power than whoever is doing it now.

    Pros

Always got 40 hours a week

    Cons

Bussers treated as second rate to waiters and hostesses. Your at the bottom of the food chain

    Advice to Management

Being a busser is one the most miserable jobs. Offer more opportunities to move up if one deserves it.
