I worked at Paradigm Tax Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Paradigm Tax Group is revolutionizing the property tax management and consulting industry by integrating proprietary technology, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, into the property tax profession. By addressing the needs of clients seeking an outsourced solution and self performers, Paradigm is positioning itself as the leader in the market. I highly recommend joining this growing organization.

    Cons

I did not experience any serious cons while working at Paradigm.

    Advice to Management

Continue innovating and delivering high quality services to clients!

    Pros

None since the private equity firm, Riverside, assumed management responsibility unless one is SOLD on the promise of a future sale.

    Cons

PTO was always granted but also always ignored. Notified to review a budget by the end of the day, while on PTO and travelling during the holidays. No investment in continuing education for staff. The new management style is focused on cost-cutting as the only way to increase profit...er....EBITDA...EBITDA...EBITDA!!! 'Strategic' goals change annually due to grasping (i.e. inexperienced) leadership.

    Advice to Management

No advice to management but plenty of advice to job seekers: don't wreck your career by working for this company!

I have been working at Paradigm Tax Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are very little pro's since Riverside took over.

    Cons

What was once a small company that exploded in growth is now being destroyed by ignorant "executives" who know nothing about property tax. The brain drain has been significant. They think kissing customers butts will make up for the poor service they get. Only one person who is an executive even has any property tax knowledge. Imagine going to tax accountant and all the people are sales people and ignorant about your issues. Welcome to PTG, the company who was going to take over the property tax world and welcome the sales people who will lie to you to get $5. There is a reason we have had 3 CFO's, 3 HR directors and nothing but turnover in the last three years. As a client, I would ask what has happened in NYC, Atlanta, and most recently Southern California.

    Advice to Management

Need to get a new CEO and replace ALL of the executives. There is not one who will not lie to get you to do what they want.

I worked at Paradigm Tax Group full-time

    Pros

Overall a nice place to work. Good attitudes, work ethic, and workspace.

    Cons

Middle management can be lackluster at times. Sudden layoff came as a big surprise, given the claimed cashflow during hire.

    Advice to Management

    Transparency is key.

I worked at Paradigm Tax Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

you'll get your hands on plenty of appeals to work.

    Cons

The company was acquired by a PE firm (Riverside) a few years back and since then they've been posturing the company to be acquired by a larger company.

As a result, they are hiring associates for a single appeal season and then letting them go.

The person who hired me was a principal and left after two months of my hire date to take a finance role with an investment bank. Then my direct manager left to take a role in a different office after three months of my hire date.

What's more, they really don't value leadership development or mentoring from senior staff. If this is something you seek, this could be problematic.

I worked at Paradigm Tax Group full-time

    Pros

Was a great small company to grow and advance. Great people, good clients, good management. Pay was good and bonus was ok.

    Cons

Started trying to grow through acquisition and assimilation was hard. The sale to venture capital group further muddled the management and personal growth potential. Room to grow was limited, pay was stifled, bonuses very small, lots of crappy clients (chased any company that would pay), overall bad environment evolved (management, workload, pay)

    Pros

    Innovative vision by leadership team.
    Exciting new technology.
    Tremendously skilled consulting staff.

    Cons

Pace of growth can be challenging to keep up with.

    Advice to Management

Communication, communication, communication. With staff working out of 30 offices nationwide it is very easy for misinformation to settle in pockets of the company. The periodic company-wide "Town Meetings" are an appreciated way to share corporate level information, Keep up the good work.

    Pros

Paradigm's continued focus on delivering superior appeal results has recently been paired with a strong dedication towards being an industry leader in technology and innovation. This has allowed me to think more creatively and learn from the influx of new talent, thus growing my career exponentially over the pasy year or so.

    Cons

Busy seasons fluctuate and call for long hours from time-to-time. Still nothing too out of the ordinary.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest and attract in talent that leads to innovation to help us further differentiate ourrselves from the competition.
