I worked at Paradise Bakery & Café part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - you get amazing discounts on days you work, when you're not working you can elect to put a certain amount on a paradise card that the company will put the same amount you put on the card (basically to double the balance) to use when not working.
    - a lot of stations to be able to learn and try to choose from
    - once you learn 3 stations you get a pay raise and usually can be up for a promotion
    - great work environment

    Cons

    - minimum wage
    - can be stressful and tiring
    - no great benefits
    - mainly only part time hours available

    Advice to Management

    None really!

I have been working at Paradise Bakery & Café part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The food is good and the employee discount is significant. It's not a terrible job, especially if it's your first. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who's coming from a job they liked however.

    Cons

The scheduling system sucks- it changes every week and despite it being 2016, is printed out and hung up in a back room where you can barely see it. It's literally impossible to make plans for your life if the schedule is changing every freaking week (I mean seriously? I'm a student and i can't have my hours completely shifted when I have scheduled classes). There is no phone number to call or text for employees (at least none that I was told of), you literally have to call the main line during business hours and be put on hold every 10 seconds for customer calls to have someone run to the back room and check for you if you want to know what your hours are that day. If you applied to be a cashier and get that position, you are not only a cashier but also in charge of the soup station, in charge of cleaning like 50% of the kitchen area, in charge of restocking all snacks, cleaning the gross baking table, and helping everyone else out while running back and forth from the register to make sure you're not keeping any customers waiting. Everyone there gossips about the other coworkers, making it a very unwelcome environment, and the people that have been there for years are all a tight knit clique. It's honestly not a terrible job and if it were my first I probably would stay but I have experience at a few other places and I know that it's 100% not worth the hassle for what they pay you. I'm planning on putting in my one week notice asap.

    Advice to Management

Get an online scheduling system. I would recommend using whentowork, it's simple and easy. Also, there's probably a good reason why people keep quitting. I would recommend surveying the people who leave and looking into bettering the work environment.
