I have been working at Paragon Bioservices (More than a year)

    Pros

Company is growing rapidly. Expanding opportunities as company is under rapid growth. Collegial work environment. Interesting work, contributes to human good.

    Cons

Located in Baltimore, long and awful commute. Because of growth rate, finding space is awkward. Also, because we're growing from small to big, a lot of processes are changing. If change is awkward for you, you might be better off at a more stable place like the monitor of dams and geologic formations.

    Advice to Management

    Hang in. Keep working hard!

FWIW, Marco is a very great guy, but he is no longer involved at Paragon. HR might want to update GlassDoor.

I have been working at Paragon Bioservices full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

CMO in a strong growth phase! Good people who care about their job and what we do here

    Cons

Transition from small privately held CMO to a company with the capacity and talent to work with the big boys of BioPharma.

    Advice to Management

Listen to Managers and Leaders who know CMO business. Understand and define department role and responsibilities.

I worked at Paragon Bioservices full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It paid the bills yet some how payroll couldn't even get that correct 410k medical was ok but not good by any means. Most lower staff members were friendly but upper management could care less about you

    Cons

Where to begin? Screwing up pay, company policy is kept in the dark and left up to management to fly by the seat of their pants when issues arise. A bunch of managers who think they know everything even when their hand is held and proved wrong. Don't apply here avoid it at all costs

    Advice to Management

Look at why your ants are leaving then look at who manages them or the lack of

I have been working at Paragon Bioservices full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Since this is a small company that is growing I get a chance to do a lot of hands on lab work that I may not get at a larger more established company. The people here are great too. I've made some very good friends here.

    Cons

Compensation is very low, but I was willing to take it as I had no work experience out of college. Company definitely needs to improve their organization/project management department.

    Advice to Management

A tuition reimbursement program is the biggest thing. I am working to get my masters and one day hopefully my phd. If Paragon were to pay for those that would inspire a lot more loyalty from me after having earned my degrees and I would be much more likely to continue to work for them.

A employee review program with the potential for raises/promotions for exceptional employees would be excellent. I work extremely hard and efficiently and have earned the gratitude and respect of my direct supervisors but it seems there is no way for those in charge of pay/promotions (with whom I have little contact on a daily basis) to see why I (and other hard workers) would deserve such rewards.

    Pros

It is a CMO, so you get to work on multiple, very diverse projects, some of them quite interesting if you enjoy fast pace

    Cons

Paragon struggles with very poor management, poorly equipped laboratories, low pay, lack of opportunities to grow, and extremely limited office space

    Pros

Brilliant people willing to share knowledge is a big plus. New board representing investors should bring positive changes in the future.

    Cons

There has been too much turnover especially in the Quality Assurance department. They need to be unified and command respect through a united front.

    Advice to Management

Prioritize what is needed and what will give the most return on investment. Ask employees if they agree with audit findings and remedy what is necessary.

I have been working at Paragon Bioservices full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You definitely know that the people who own the company care about each persons well being. The CEO would never ask you to do something that he himself wouldn't do.

    Cons

No promotions, no yearly reviews, difficult to open up for change, very old school,

    Advice to Management

Be willing to listen to your employees. If you consistently turn down their suggestions eventually they stop trying. Show employees better appreciation. Find ways to boost morale.
