I worked at Paragon Security full-time

    Pros

    Great pay at the beginning

    Cons

No room for growth and company is cheap with equipment.

    Advice to Management

Be more proud of your employees and take care of them.

    "Over Accomplished."

    Pros

Over 120 hours of training before hitting the spot. ICE-immigration custom enforcement gun training to carry a weapon. Duane Attkins, former chief of police in Virginia-911 witness, governing the class rooms.

    Cons

Ex-everything. Sometimes this brings conflict for new beginners and ambitious youth in the field of law enforcement and security. Very positive company, but because you are an ex-?, you should show more of your weaknesses to teach and less aggression as solution to chastise. You might throw a positive brother off his game.

    Advice to Management

Continue the open door policy and be watchful for what you already have inside. It is very hard to see everything when you are only concentrated on one thing. It takes a team to be great. I'd work for you any day of the week, that is as long as there are sufficient hours.

I have been working at Paragon Security full-time

    Pros

The training was better than many of the other security companies I have worked for. Staff are unionized so we have some benefits. Pay is consistent with competitors.

    Cons

Company will hire the wrong people and reject people with experience. Mostly will hire people that come through their training academy. Raises are non existent and company ignores employee safety (other than lip service). Sites are persistently understaffed with no backup plan so taking time off is near impossible. Employees receive a letter at Christmas time every year that time off will not be allowed until after New Years due to understaffing.

    Advice to Management

Have stricter hiring criteria and pay to reflect that. Check on the safety of your sites. Let your regular full time employees occasionally enjoy holidays with their families.

    Better communication news d.

I have been working at Paragon Security (More than a year)

    Pros

Generally a very easy job depending on location, very flexible hours.

    Cons

Very low pay, have to pay for your own uniform and no pay for training. I feel like every paycheck they pay me like 50% of what I worked for in 2 weeks.
