I have been working at Paragon Technologies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Competitive wages, strong upper management, good industry, aggressive market strategy.

    Cons

Some of the middle management is green but they are working hard to get the balance going to keep us successful.

    Advice to Management

Invest into your personnel, the equipment investment is great, people investment is good but could be better. Take care of us, we will take care of you!

    Pros

Good technology if you can find someone that needs what they provide. Their technology is very specific and 99% of companies have no need for what they provide.

    Cons

They can barely make payroll. They are surviving off of existing customers. 20 years ago they made everything they sell and had more products to offer. Now they outsource all the manufacturing and have to partner with other companies to bring a complete solution to the table. They can't keep upper management. They are on the 3rd CEO in less than 5 years. Lots of turnover, especially in sales.

I have been working at Paragon Technologies full-time

    Pros

Good crew for the most part. Decent test equipment but not the best.

    Cons

Brown nosers get rewarded and "squeaky wheels" get the oil while the rest go unnoticed. Many promises are made but are not acted upon. The test equipment is out dated and poorly maintained along with most other equipment. Egos run rampant, management, if you want to call it that, likes to play pass the buck and not make a decision on their own. The only way you are going to get a raise is if you ask for one and if you're lucky, you might get 25% of what you asked for. Inventory is a joke. Hope you don't have a life at home because they expect you to be there 24/7/365. Communication??? Morale???

    Advice to Management

Hire some more trained people, not just bodies to fill a void. Treat your employees better, a happy employee is a productive one. Listen to your people when the bring up problems, they're the ones that deal with all kind of issues every day.

I have been working at Paragon Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you get lucky or they get desperate, they will train you as either and electronics or hydraulics technician, giving you valuable experience. Techs who really stand out and work will get raises if they have the confidence to ask.

    Cons

Anyone who starts here entry level will never make anywhere near what they are worth after even two months of experience. Getting handed much more responsibility is very easy to come by, raises are not, especially in anything related to finance (Controller's favorite way of saving money is by paying the people he's in charge of next to nothing) Hard to stand behind a company that shirks almost all of it's "values". This company loves hiring in people who have no experience and putting them in charge.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your technicians more, a lot of them really do know what they are talking about. A lot of your information on prices is outdated, things are changing in this industry, and quick. You have a lot of extremely bright people here who can do a lot for this company, but there is such low morale through the entire building because of wage disparity//extremely high stress level that none want to go the extra mile for this company.
