    Negative Outlook

I worked at Park City Resort full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of free snowboarding. Also got to meet a lot of unique people from all over the world.

    Cons

Never knowing if you're going to get a lesson, and thus paid. Got really bad when tourism slowed with the economy.

    Advice to Management

If you're going to charge $1125 ($225 x 5 kids) for a Signature 5 lesson, please pay your instructors more than $90 a day. ($15.00/hr x 6 hr lesson.) Because seriously, no one tips anymore. The instructors you've got left are just there for a free Season pass and could care less if the guests ever come back.

I have been working at Park City Resort full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free ski pass, beautiful view, laid back environment, free lunch, variety of children and ages (6 weeks-6 years), sliding down a snowy hill with the kids and riding the gondola. Babysitting for guests at night or on your days off pays very well.

    Cons

Working weekends and holiday, $10.50/hr, on-call sometimes, getting over-time hrs is very rare, getting sick (around kids)

    Advice to Management

They're wonderful and really care. Communication between employee and management is always key.

I have been working at Park City Resort full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Beautiful place to work. Benefits of skiing for free. Opportunity to work with like-minded people.

    Cons

Pay not comparable to what other jobs in the area offer. Housing challenging if you're from out of town. Parking a problem. Have to shuttle to work during busy days. Customer service industry has not-no-nice people to deal with...

    Advice to Management

Continue to improve pay and benefits. Source out employee housing.

    Pros

Friendly, fun, gorgeous environment with many different events and seasonal work. I would go back if I could.

    Cons

Little disorganized when relaying information, tasks, etc. After being told there would be multiple opportunities to work, there ended up being only one week out of two months.

    Pros

The staff is beyond wonderful and life long friends. It's one of the most fun jobs I've ever had. The training is top notch. If I'm ever back in PC....I'm going back to work here. I love it!

    Cons

I honestly don't have any negative comments.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Park City Resort (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company, fun up tempo working environment with well trained and coordinated managers. Good benefits for the mountain enthusiasts. Nice product benefits.

    Cons

Not many complaints. For people looking to build a pedigree in ski instructing I don't think there is a better place to start.

    Advice to Management

(Raise pay) Biggest asset was creating a fun energy filled work environment through the instructor managers. Continue to push toward sending new instructors to training to up their status.
