I worked at Park Nicollet Health Services full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I had great bosses and the pay was good

    Cons

The building I was in wasn't very nice, but that didn't bother me

I have been working at Park Nicollet Health Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay, easy job, PTO and easy to request off time

    Cons

Easy job, Very little career advancement or ability to develop skills. Its basically work here until you get sick of it. Management is very rude - often pulling meetings with random people and not telling you about it, being passive aggressive, angry, and demeaning. Coworkers all seem sad. The work is very menial and low-skilled.

    Advice to Management

    Hopeless

I have been working at Park Nicollet Health Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    PTO, Be Well program, location

    Cons

Management is very inconsistent. Enforce very archaic rules including dress code with favoritism. Management plays huge favoritism, very little room for advancement and only the "favorites" are eligible. 2 week training program has very little to do with actual job duties. Building facilities are terrible, uncleanly, old, broken. Water from filter tastes very musty. No concern for employee wellbeing in the work place because it cost money - Direct quote from management. Management can be very demeaning.

    Advice to Management

Stop favoritism, keep up consistency with training, and rule enforcement. Department needs to get rid of archaic policies, especially on dress code, employees need to be comfortable in order to be productive. Put some money into decaying facility

    Pros

The staff I work with throughout the hospital on the night shift are beyond awesome. They are very friendly, welcoming, and work together well as a team for the best of outcomes for the patient.

    Cons

It's very frustrating continually working short, and only being staffed in four hour block increments. And the Staffing Department needs to answer the phone with a human.

    Advice to Management

Hire more staff. Listen to your staff, and WORK with them! to make things better.

    Pros

    Overall, the benefits are good.

    Cons

Park NIcollet does not pay employees for their accrued PTO time when they leave the company.

I had to wait 1.5 years in order to be eligible to the employer match to my 401K. The company does not do quarterly matches for the 401K, but does the match at the end of the calendar year and the employee must be active as of the last day of the calendar year in order to receive any match.

    Advice to Management

Pay employees for their accrued PTO.

    Pros

None. Nothing. Zilch. I'd rather kill myself.

    Cons

Everything. No joke. A handful of colleagues.

    Advice to Management

All of registration management should be replaced.

    Pros

Nice people that work in my department.

    Cons

No opportunity for advancement, huge lack of communication with management, mandatory overtime and weekends, job not as described, no pay for expected "on call" hours for float position in Radiology. High turnover and supervisor that has very poor communication.

    Advice to Management

Replace supervisor and increase pay for what is expected of the float position.
