I have been working at Park Nicollet Health Services part-time

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere with cordial relationship with other co-workers, excellent reputation for quality healthcare, nice locations in the Western Minneapolis suburbs, good benefits.

    Cons

The 12 hours schedules in the hospital that are unhealthy for nurses (Day/night 12 hr shifts at hospital for nurses rather than straight days or nights. There are 8 hour shift also on some floors). It is difficult to get vacation days off.

    Advice to Management

Ask you workers' for input and ideas, get them more involved in the quality improvement process rather than using a top-down approach to implement change.

    Pros

The staff I work with throughout the hospital on the night shift are beyond awesome. They are very friendly, welcoming, and work together well as a team for the best of outcomes for the patient.

    Cons

It's very frustrating continually working short, and only being staffed in four hour block increments. And the Staffing Department needs to answer the phone with a human.

    Advice to Management

Hire more staff. Listen to your staff, and WORK with them! to make things better.
