An honest review that will reveal my identity to those I worked with - but I do not care
Oct 31, 2021 - Audiology Assistant in Burnsville, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Pay is decent, yearly reviews with possibility of increase (Range for this job is 21-27 depending on experience) -Patients are mostly kind and thankful for your help -If you like tinkering, the actual repairing of the hearing aids can be really fun (repetitive too, but I didn't mind) -Primarily sitting (if you like that) but you do get to get up and walk around a bit, depending on how many patients you have scheduled -Lunch is an hour (half paid, half unpaid, don't ask me why) -Benefits are very nice -PTO is pretty flexible for this location for this position, even on short notice, as long as patients aren't already scheduled -Schedule can be accommodating for your preferences (I chose 7:30-4) -I REALLY liked establishing relationships with patients. Some were so kind and really loved talking to me. I had patients call me and wish me happy holidays and some just to say thank you for my help because they were so grateful. It was really heartwarming to make a difference. It made it all worthwhile.
Cons
-It takes about 6 months to really get into the flow of this position. There are just so many things to learn. Even a year in I had to ask questions occasionally. -This position has no room to grow within the department without getting further licensure (AuD). You'd have to move within the company -Job wears a lot of hats and hats are constantly being added, there is no ability to set boundaries. If you did, you'd most definitely either get told on by staff or talked to by management (or both). -Management will act as if they are listening to you, but nothing actually gets done. They will seem empathetic and caring. It's a façade. Don't fall for it. It's there from the interview. It will go on for months. But it will slowly and surely break. -With that in mind, you will be left alone, working hard, and only to be contacted when enough complaints have been made about you about the most trivial things. Complaints were never about my work ethic, only about my attitude (which I still don't understand what attitude I had to be frank), as far as I was told. -Some locations are better than others, your experience will entirely depend on the audiologists you assist. I was unlucky that one was extremely disrespectful, one stressed everyone out (although they are no longer there), and another had a complaint for every mistake you made (and told management any time they felt you were talking back). -It's the kind of job where only your mistakes are noticed... if you're doing things right you're not acknowledged. It starts to wear on you

Great organization but not for me
Jun 6, 2021 - Lab Processing Assistant in Saint Paul, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- the pay was amazing as a college student - somewhat flexible with their schedule - great medical experience for pre-med students - great for lab experience for lab technicians
Cons
- in the Methodist Hospital location there are some senior employees that reports on minor incidents and add unneeded pressure on other employees - some of the senior employees will slack off by looking at social media or browsing the web but still report a student studying so some hypocrisy.

Pay rate was fair and the balance of work was fair.
Sep 24, 2012 - Medical Coding Specialist in Saint Louis Park, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Everyone worked well together as a team. Flexible scheduling. Fair pay rates.
Cons
Not always very understanding about personal issues and it affects productivity. Too much focus on productivity and not as much focus on quality of work.
