I have been working at Park-Ohio Holdings full-time

    Pros

The assembly jobs are great. Work alot of overtime and pay is decent if you have been there for awhile.

    Cons

The qouta for said jobs are to high and is almost impossible to get the average needed. Working 5-7 days a week, when regular scheduled work week was changed in the middle of the year from 4 10hr shifts to 5 8hr days but have to stay 2 hours more everyday or its counted against you. Management does not try hard enough to work with or help employees with difficulties.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees more and have a more of a democracy style work place instead of a dictatorship.

    Pros

Decent pay, some room to grow in manufacturing ONLY. Learn a lot about machining and get to do different jobs

    Cons

Horrible vacation.policy - 2 weeks of vacation until 8 complete years then goes to 3 weeks that is it. Management needs to work on communication skills. No ability to get into office position.

    Advice to Management

Hire younger people and listen to employees

I have been working at Park-Ohio Holdings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of my coworkers are pretty great. They are the only reason I have not quit yet. The work itself is challenging and satisfying.

    Cons

Leadership is non-existant. Company is consistently losing money due to simple disorganisation. IT is terrible, you will spend most of your day fighting obsolete software to try to accomplish anything. Sick time does not exist, You get ATA which double hits you if you're actually sick. (you loose a day in addition to the one you have to take). Do not take a salary position they will force you to work tons of overtime and then charge you ATA time if your sick when your back home.

    Advice to Management

    Get a Clue!

    Pros

One of the best hiring managers I had. (For a short period)

    Cons

If you do not know the story of Dana Corporation learn it. Part of the same management team for Dana Corporation is in different areas of PKOH. Yes they move together. By the look of it, It seems like it is hurting PKOH as well. Because of lack of centralization from PKOH the C-Level management do not really know what happen at the plants levels.

    Advice to Management

    Not much.
