I worked at Park University part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great support from staff and coworkers, great pay, great students. The only reason I left my position was I relocated.

    Cons

I do not have any Cons for this job. I enjoyed every aspect of my job at Park University.

    Advice to Management

Be open to teach less than the minimum students if a class does not make. The staff will work very hard to help you as a teacher if you work to help the students and university succeed.

I have been working at Park University full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great students, beautiful (if decrepit) campus, nice colleagues

    Cons

This place is a mess. Salaries are lower than national averages, lower than regional averages. Little to no salary increases every single year, while benefits get more expensive. Promotions seem to be reserved for certain races and genders. Everything is a secret. Everything is political. No shared governance. Stay away.

I worked at Park University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved working with the students. Tuition is free for employees and I think it's also free for family members.

    Cons

Low pay, salary employees are paid monthly, lack of communication through management, high turnover..FA dept is clueless, no room for growth

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect and in the same manner you would like to be treated as a working class adult.

I worked at Park University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The people can be nice

    Cons

Constantly changing leadership. Terrible physical environment. I had no heating or cooling and there were constant pest (wasps) problems. Poor communication. The work wasn't challenging. Salary was ridiculously low, about 20k less than industry standard.

I have been working at Park University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My team/coworkers are great. Direct supervisor is supportive and kind and willing to listen. The dept itself is good and communication within the division is pretty good and transparent. The senior administration is visible on-campus and holds annual forums for direct communication/feedback from staff/faculty. There are opportunities for advancement here as HR posts jobs internally before they post them externally.

    Cons

outdated software, lack in transparency regarding budgets/finances within dept., lack of team-building and motivational experiences (retreats, etc.), lack of professional development for hourly or non-exempt staff. The PAY is well below the national average for the position and benefits are fairly expensive (although they are working on a new salary structure to better align the pay).

    Advice to Management

Focus more on team-building and make the case for professional development funds for the hourly employees/staff. Even if its a local/regional conference every other year or set on a rotating basis. Have a staff retreat once a semester or even year. Take time for more in-depth training for new staff.

I have been working at Park University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice environment. Great students. Good quality Canvas courses are easy to deliver. Administrative stuff is very helpful. You need to follow the teaching standard to keep us with the requirements.

    Cons

Some students are challenging, which is pretty normal. Some courses need some work/input from the instructor, which I found interesting.
