I have been working at Parker Adventist Hospital full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Very supportive work place culture. Employees take ownership in how they can best help the sick and vulnerable and at the same time they care and support each other in a fast pace and stressful environment. We know are co-workers and we care about them. Someone will always help you if you ask for the help to get your work load completed.

    Cons

It is health care, so it's hard work. Days with staffing shortages are common. All hospitals are trying to "do more with less" and this gets old. Cut middle management and use that savings to hire more nurses.

    Advice to Management

Get on the floor more often and spend less time in meetings. Understand that sometimes this population is unreasonable. It's a hospital not a hotel.

I have been working at Parker Adventist Hospital full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexibility for scheduling Decent pay Daily Staff Meal

    Cons

The executive team and other staff members have unrealistic expectations of the kitchen staff and often treated us as if we were unworthy of their time, attention, or praise.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge your employees concerns about other staff members. Encourage other departments to stage in the kitchen so they can better understand the work load.

I have been working at Parker Adventist Hospital full-time

    Pros

Great co workers Nice gift shop

    Cons

Terrible management and organization. There is no communication and management will not justify decisions because what they say goes even though it is not beneficial to the organization. There is a good ole boy system in place. The pay does not even come close to justifying the work load.

    Advice to Management

Take a management class and learn to treat your employees as human beings and not money-making robots! Paid vacation days pull from your pto hours.... do they are not really paid it’s just a vacation day

I have been working at Parker Adventist Hospital full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Neuro joint spine is a beautiful floor.

    Cons

Neuro joint spine has a massive turnover. Nurses and aids quier after couple months of employment due to lack of respect from the assistant managers. Not a professional place to work.

    Pros

Trying to achieve Magnet, 4-5 patient assignments on Med-Surg, pretty fast PTO accrual, staff works pretty well together despite poor management

    Cons

I have been working at Parker Adventist Hospital for more than a year

    Pros

Great co-workers that support as well as possible. Charge nurses are easy to work with.

    Cons

The management-there is very limited flexibility with everything. It is a blame type of culture, suggestions are very limitedly considered.
