    Pros

Great inexpensive health insurance, plenty of vacation time, consistent scheduling. The salaries are good especially for the area. Usually not a problem to get time off.

    Cons

The way they allow you to use your sick time is ridiculous, if you call out sick you have to use vacation time first, then after 2 days you can use sick time. Hello what is sick time for? Not even sure how that is exactly legal.

    Advice to Management

Encourage employee professional development. The tuition reimbursement is so insignificant I don;t think it encourages people to make the sacrifice to further their learning.

I have been working at Parkland Health Center full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Pay is in the top tier for the region.

    Cons

The hospital has lost its sense of humanity. Excellent ratings and process efficiency have become the priority above human factor-related issues. Also, each job is so controlled and micromanaged that it leaves no room for individual growth and development within the company.

    Advice to Management

Harness and help develop the talents of individuals in order to enact positive change and create a thriving business. When people feel like they're part of the bigger picture of a company, it can create motivation toward a culture of innovation and quality, which translates to the achievement of an overall goal of excellent patient care.

I have been working at Parkland Health Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

As much overtime as you want.

    Cons

No help. Very inexperienced nurses. Chaotic and no help from management. A lot of employees have money missing from checks; hours missing.

    Advice to Management

Hire more employees with experience. These are people's lives, look at workload for the nurses, overworking will cause balls to drop and lives to be lost.

loved my work, and the people I met with

    Cons

poor wages, poorer management, Parkland plays with employee's lives to satisfy the upper management team's whims

    Advice to Management

Hire recruiters who can hire proper people to fill positions. Stop pomoting from within people who are not qualified to perform the job.
