I have been working at Parkview Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great experiences and good learning opportunities. I have learned so much here. The benefits are the best I have found in the area. So much potential.

    Cons

-Cronyism rules king here so better like having your nose covered in brown to get beyond where you start at. Do not rock the boat or you won't be able to transfer departments either.
-The rules are not standardized and based on the whims of supervisors.
-Pay raises are not based off of merit either but some committee that decides how much your department gets.

    Advice to Management

-Standardize the rules via your lackluster and underutilized HR Department.
-Send a clear message to leaders to improve their promotion process and even take it out of their hands and have an impartial selection group complete the decision.
-Make sure your leaders are using the tools you give them at your leadership meetings, instead of it looking like a under desk light bulb changing session where nothing changes or improves just swirls further down the drain.
-There is so much potential being driven out the doors by the leaders playing games.

    Cons

there is a Lack of communication between management and cooks.

    Advice to Management

post any changes that happen in the department on a board because there are always changes happening but they do not always get relayed to everyone.

I worked at Parkview Health part-time

    Pros

Good team work depending what floor/unit you work on.

    Cons

After getting a bachelor’s degree in business administration, I had a hard time transferring from a PCT to a professional, non-clinical position. After reaching out to managers and HR for over 10 months after finishing school, no one in any of the departments reached out to me for even a phone interview, I left parkview because I was unable to get a job utilitizing my degree. Although people off of the street were coming to parkview getting jobs, I felt that I would have a better chance due to me being an 4 yr employee and knew the core values of parkview, but I was mistaken. If I got a nursing degree I’m sure I would’ve had a job within weeks.
