I worked at Parkway Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You'll work with great co-workers and customers. The workload is manageable and compared to most banks out there, the sales goals are almost non-existent.

    Cons

Executive Management is unfair and has shady business practices. The HR department is unethical because they fear the CEO. Very poor mentors across the board. And there are way too many marital affairs going on at this bank.

    Advice to Management

Don't use emotions when making business decisions. Treat ALL your employees with respect. Learn how to stand up to the CEO when he is being ridiculous, otherwise, you're just a minion. Don't be a minion.

I worked at Parkway Bank part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Met a lot of amazing people while working at Parkway, unfortunately the other branches I was asked to work were very far away from my set location. But, none the less nothing but good memories there! Before management got picky we were allowed to watch TV and have phones in the teller line.

    Cons

Main branch is all the way in the city, didn't pay me enough for the creepy customers that came in.

    Advice to Management

Nikki was the best manager hands down! Other than that I would recommend giving your tellers incentive to make more money.

I have been working at Parkway Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a job. I get a check when I'm supposed to. And it's currently holding me over until my new job starts.

    That's it.

    Cons

The Monday and Friday schedules are way too long

If you know the CEO personally you're pretty much set with the company.

Pay is terrible. Turnover for this company is horrible because of the pay. You will rarely find help from any of the upper management if you have a question about anything. No one wants to assume responsibility for anything and no one likes to admit when they are wrong.

Opportunities for advancement are few and far between and when they do come up the favorites are chosen and not people who have been working hard. An assistant branch manager was stuck and couldn't move on to another branch because no one wanted her to leave her current slow branch since she was already there. You have to work here for 10+ years to even be considered for something else.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the real reasons as to why the turnover rate is so ridiculous. Ask yourselves why an assistant manager for 18 years from Parkway can find a job as a BANKER at a different bank and make more there than she did here. The executives are not the people at the front line handling the customers. Treat your tellers and bankers with a little more respect and MAYBE you can have some retention with the company.

I have been working at Parkway Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Parkway is a community bank that focuses on the customer's needs. We sell based on what the customer needs or wants, we don't sell for the sake of the sale. I appreciate my manager and her guidance. Benefits are very good. Nice family-feel place. You get to know everyone here. Room for growth and advancement if you want to work for it. Great work-life balance. 38 hour work week.

    Cons

    Salaries are average...could be higher.

I worked at Parkway Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people, good hours, amazing benefits plan. The hours aren't bad either.

    Cons

Pay is a little lower than big banks which can get a little frustrating but once you've been in it for a while it seems to balance itself out.

    Advice to Management

Keep focused on the people that work for you, I loved working for Parkway
