    Pros

You can get as much free perfume as you want with the brands they have.

    Cons

The people are negative and not many young people work there.

I have been working at Parlux Fragrances part-time

    Pros

Good hourly wage, that is pretty much it.

    Cons

Unfortunately very unprofessional lacks communication, high goal expectations, inconsistent hours, biased management, no team work, verbal abuse, little to no breaks since you have to meet sales, schedule is never on time, almost every shift is in a different location, hard to find HR to complain to,

    Advice to Management

Hire people who know what they are doing and are not biased. Train new employees and check on their stock. COMMUNICATION!!! Know the legalities!!!

    Pros

Friendly people. Interesting industry. It's a place where you can do your job and go home and not worry about it.

    Cons

Upper management cares nothing for employees and lower level managers are unable to do anything to encourage career development. The company exists as a manufacturing arm for it's parent company and it is not designed to be profitable. This means wage and hiring freezes with increases in benefits costs yearly. (when comparable jobs at other companies have much higher salaries) No promotions. No career development and no HR department to even facilitate any questions. It's a shame. The company has huge potential but no one cares about the people that hold that potential. The New York office is a bunch of out of touch washed up Marketing executives that just waste money and play politics all day.

I worked at Parlux Fragrances (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Parlux LLC is a great place to work in south Florida. Hard working and dedicated staff.

    Cons

Is owned by Perfumania. They are slow to make decisions and too much red tape for the simplest thing to be done.

    Advice to Management

    Get assets under control

I have been working at Parlux Fragrances full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - A true 9 - 5 job. You are asked to clock (scan) in and out daily even though you are salaried
    - Small casual office (NY/FL) - Though most come to work dressed business casual, casual tends to work as well. The chairman/owner often comes to work in jeans and sneakers. The meetings aren't as formal or structured as they are with other CPG/ Beauty companies

    Cons

    - Benefits are not so great - Be very clear on what you are getting before you accept any offer. The biggest issue for most is that you're offered very little vacation, which isn't competitive with the industry/ professional level. Do not believe anyone when they say the New York/FL office is different. It isn't. There is no 401K matching and no bonuses below VP level
    - Most people are on a need-to-know basis which doesn't create a positive and open work environment
    - A lot of egos in a small space which contributes to unnecessary drama. One would think that in a small office most people would get along and be friendly toward one another and that isn't the case
    - Senior management turns a blind eye to bad behavior/ unprofessional conduct
    - There is no continuing education, management/ development trainings as you will find with other large corporations
    - No review process (annual or otherwise)
