I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Reputable name across multiple sectors, talented professionals, and high-profile projects. As a young project manager the growth opportunities are a plus. Having a global presence doesn't necessarily geographically restrict you. Overall a good work environment.

    Cons

Average to low compensation, zero stakeholder equity, and behind the times employee benefits. Huge gap in median age employees.

    Advice to Management

Recruiting is easy with the reputation and high profile projects that the PB name brings but retaining talent with low compensation, no stakeholder equity, and poor benefits will be difficult. Show that you appreciate your employees and the millions that they generate every year. Even small things, gym memberships, food catering, PTO, flexible work hours, etc. go a long way in passing the message along to employees that they are valued.

I worked at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time

    Pros

Well known company. High recognition with good on going projects.

    Cons

Everyone constantly fighting on projects to charge time to. Management frowns at charging time to normal office hours and not project based hours. But what if you are not assigned to any projects???

    Advice to Management

Create a learning and supportive structure for entry level positions.

I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great place to work. Ownership of my work and not micro-managed. Co-workers are very friendly and helpful.

    Cons

Very little opportunity for growth when working in a field office. No promise to stay with PB when projects end. When project ends and there is not another on deck you don't have a job.

I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time

    Pros

Smart people, great atmosphere, high-profile projects, extensive exposure to company leadership.

    Cons

Management expectations are very high, poor work to life balance. You are only as good as your last day at this company. Accountability between project team members is skewed. Very little process within IT group. Resources over-allocated makes project planning difficult when everyone is always scrambling.

    Advice to Management

Either reduce the number of projects or hire more personnel..
