I worked at Parsons Brinckerhoff part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great managers, great employees, and my favorite, free coffee! The building was nice, the gym inside is nice and the cafeteria is nice for those days when you don't feel like packing lunch. My team worked together well and everyone was always bringing food items in to brighten up the day a bit.

    Cons

None really. I did my internship as I was supposed to and finished on good terms.

    Advice to Management

    keep up the good work

I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work atmosphere. Everyone is very driven and caring! Free coffee and tea. The office is extremely nice being right on the inner harbor.

    Cons

The office does not pay for much (parking, dinners, etc...)

    Advice to Management

Good job on structure and buildings. Would recommend spending a little more on employees for little things like dinners when the office goes on a trip or does community service.

    Pros

Great coworkers and good work environment that does interesting and challenging work on some of the largest projects.

    Cons

It can be hard to move up within the organization due to the size of projects. Little management experience is given to younger engineers.

    Advice to Management

Work on developing internal roles to advance younger engineer's career to avoid talent loss.

I worked at Parsons Brinckerhoff (More than a year)

    Pros

The people are friendly and welcoming, the higher-ups take an interest in the employees they work with, the projects are often exciting and high profile, and the diversity is fantastic. I was particularly impressed with the way younger employees were trained and given responsibility and were clearly valued.

    Cons

The work can be repetitive and lack creativity and the office environment is dull.

    Advice to Management

The intern program is good and improving, and it would helpful to try to get the interns more responsibility within a particular project. Also the diversity in my office was superb and I think it could have been touted more.

I have been working at Parsons Brinckerhoff full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

PB is a premiere corporation offering services across the engineering spectrum. They supply superior customer service and high quality design and construction services.

    Cons

PB having been recently acquired by WSP is conducting an aggressive review of staffing needs and many senior staff are feeling the pressure. Several senior staff have been furloughed as a cost cutting measure and will ultimately face layoff. Previously, prior to acquisition, PB work ed very hard to retain staff in anticipation of new work.

    Advice to Management

Show loyalty to devoted staff and make every attempt to show that they are the primary asset to the company. Retention incentives should be sought for the best talent.
