I worked at Parsons Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They haven't gotten caught in their misrepresentation of charging overhead tasking to the customers, yet.

    Cons

They are a FFP construction culture. No understanding of CPIF government contracting or engineering outside of the construction realm. They are incredibly top heavy which means everything is about how much overhead they can possibly charge to support all those mouths.

Support functions (travel, talent management, program control, etc) are very hard to work with and run the organization which makes everything cumbersome as there is much rice bowl building.

They claim they have tuition reimbursement but will only reimburse very limited classes AND if the management has spent all the overhead (which is always overrun).

In 40 years of working for government contractors, this was by far the worst.

    Advice to Management

Not much can be said as there are too many managers and not people willing to do the work.

The business should be run by each division working to a profit/loss statement rather with an overhead budget to meet, unlike the current system-which leaves no money to build the divisions.

The support functions should be part of the divisions they support to ensure accountability.

    Advice to Management
