I worked at Parsons Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Having previously worked at DMJM, I knew that Parsons was a direct competitor and that both companies would bid for similar projects. A recruiter from Parsons called me and asked if I were interested in working for them. At the time, I was living in the San Diego area and told the recruiter that I did not was to commute to Pasadena. The recruiter told me that the project was in San Diego, and that I would not have to commute. I accepted the job immediately, and the rest of the process was very efficient and professional, as the pay was excellent and the benefits were more than adequate. Great company to work for and a more than helpful HR Department.

    Cons

Distance and time to travel to corporate meetings.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you do and go after the large projects.

I have been working at Parsons Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People, technology development, customer set. This company does amazing things for amazing people--just hamstrung by disconnected leadership. Great place to start...more senior/seasoned pros will likely get discouraged quickly.

    Cons

No strategic alignment of development, capture, bid decisions, customer engagement, leadership involvement, or strategic thought in general. Bringing up problems is a great way to find a new job.

    Advice to Management

Bring in a strategy consultant. Take their advice. Actually implement and track a real strategic plan. Make it part of management's bonus metric. Resource your growth engine instead of cutting it every year to "make numbers." Implement a 21st century benefits and bonus construct that will attract and retain the talent you need to grow the way you say you want to. Look at who is leaving and why--pay attention and look internally for those reasons.

    Pros

Nothing other than benefits and insurance

    Cons

Management doesn't respect employees, nothing new to learn, Upper management least bothered about junior level employees, hiring and firing strategy irrespective of employee's performance

    Advice to Management

Please maintain the trust that employee puts on you while joining and don't treat employees in a 'least bothered' way

    Pros

My boss fought hard for me to have advancement and educational opportunities including tuition assistance and program management training.

    Cons

Red-tape made it difficult to sometimes get things accomplished - the company had more than 6000 employees when I was there.

I worked at Parsons Corporation (More than 5 years)

    Pros

From an O&M stand point, they are OK. They seem to be on the cheap side when it comes to ponying the cost to do something unless all other means have been exhausted which by then, costs more due to having poured resources into completing the mission

    Cons

The leadership seems to be very old school and at times would not listen to the voices of the workers, only taking the side of the managers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees, for they are the ones who have boots on the ground. It actually might work if you listen and act on advice or input from more than just the managers.
