    Pros

Good health insurance and benefits and perks for the employees.

    Cons

Management needs to not micromanage. There was favoritism with management and supervisors towards regular employees. Too much hassle to get to a decent pay.

    Advice to Management

I do not have any advice at this time

    Pros

Great stability and benefits, great people and fun events

    Cons

No upward mobility and no infrastructure to support or encourage employee ambition of any kind, very stifling office environment as far as creativity or encouraging a problem solving attitude

    Advice to Management

Encourage employees by offering frequent incentives for improved performance. Develop an environment where there is a "path" forward in terms of personal career development. Try to have yearly wage raises, award PTO for process improvements

    Pros

The hours, being able to dress as you please (not business attire)

    Cons

The management was horrible...it is big brother always watching you. If you accidentally click on the wrong application you are instantly questioned. If you go to fast you are pulled into the office, if you go to slow you are pulled into the office.

I have been working at Partners HealthCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I work with a great team. Unfortunately, my team performs support while I am the only developer/analyst.

    Cons

Confused management. I've been here almost 4 years and still have no idea where this department or division is heading. Lack of career path and opportunity--really not what I expected so I'm looking for more challenging opportunities both internally and externally.

    Advice to Management

Where are we going? What skills do I need to help you achieve your corporate goals?

I have been working at Partners HealthCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on your team, there can be some flexibility in your work schedule (WFH, etc.). This is entirely driven by the manager, though, and micromanagers will not allow working remotely, while someone you work with on another app can work remote on snow days or Fridays. At least on the Epic project a pro was getting certifications paid for, which can be invaluable.

    Cons

Benefits aren't *great*, despite what some are saying. Time off is very minimal. You get three "weeks off", but all PTO is pooled, meaning if you have the misfortune of getting sick for a week, you lose a week of your vacation time. Absolutely incredible that a healthcare organization would penalize workers for taking sick time. No match on 403(b), and the cash retirement plan is nice, but only benefits those who are lifers here. Very low raises (1-3% a year) discourage the "last-ins", and younger, talented types to stay more than a few years as they were inflexible on negotiating starting salary. Lots of family members or friends-of-friends in the company, so losing the aforementioned talent means there can be a lot of mediocrity throughout the organization. No room for upward movement for many given that. Way too much policy and procedure which is largely a construct to legitimize the employment of fringe employees.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees paid sick leave that is separate from vacation time. Do a better job of identifying and grooming talent that would otherwise leave for places that would covet analytical, creative, and innovative thinking.
