I have been working at Party City full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay to responsibility ratio. Fairly set scheduling. December vacations in retail.

    Cons

Halloween is your new Christmas and it becomes and entirely new job. Once you reach the Assistant Manager level there are not a lot of opportunities to become a manager without a willingness to travel to essentially be extra help with remodels.

    Advice to Management

The carrot you dangle is not worth the hoops you put people through.

I have been working at Party City full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great discount. Easy to get in. Not too hard to get promoted. Great job for high school and college students. You definitely learn a lot about retail and working in a fast paced environment.

    Cons

Management is not great. Some of them have been there too long. Hours are sometimes hard to get if you're a cashier. The recent layoffs fired a lot of good workers. Customers can be arrogant and will complain to corporate for every little thing.

    Advice to Management

Promote people who work hard and actually deserve it. Not just men who are approachable over women who work hard. Drug test your managers more regularly.
