I worked at Party City part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Easy, slightly-above-minimum-wage job.
    Flexible hours.
The whole store was run by teenagers, so the environment is enjoyable.

    Cons

    Poor management.
Customers are generally rude and demanding.

    Advice to Management

Watch over the store - minimum wage employees are mischievous.
Perform weekly cleanings - closing often gets rushed.
Don't hire too many employees - I worked 48 collective hours over three months as a result of three unneeded new hires.

I have been working at Party City part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Hours are okay if you don’t have bills to pay, majority of coworkers will help you out and are pretty down to earth

    Cons

Management. I wish that’s all I could just write down but unfortunately there’s a 20 word minimum. Being able to get extra hours would be nice too

    Advice to Management

Try to actually act like you care sometimes, it’s not that hard. Also, being more flexible to people’s schedules too.

I worked at Party City full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I like that they make you work in teams which helps you develop amazing camaraderie with your coworkers and keep things fun and your shift flies by.

Always good music playing. Uniforms are very casual (shirt and jeans). Work is fun and easy to get the hang of.

Overall, this is a very fun place to work at. You get to explore with your own creativity and ideas and this way assist customers with their party planning.

    Cons

Their annual appraisals for their employees are a joke. Management tends to be completely biased and have favoritism towards those who are willing to become a sycophant for them, which you will notice as soon as the weekly schedule is ready and announced (the toadies get better shifts, of course.), and also by the task they may assign you to complete.
Pay is not that great (minimum wage), which, depending on where you live, can be a struggle and you will see yourself living paycheck by paycheck.
Also, when the season is slow, your hours could be reduced to as low as eight hours a week.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the favoritism. You are forcing good employees to leave the company.
