I worked at Party City part-time

    Pros

Hiring process is easy and pretty much anyone gets hired for the halloween season

    Cons

I worked during the halloween season and the supervisors were very disrespectful and rude. Its also very disorganized and the pay is definitely not worth it

I have been working at Party City part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Management is really bad, so you can get away with doing basically nothing if you want to.

    Cons

    Horrible hours.
    Horrible upper management.
Tons of work for basically no pay.
    Lousy coworkers who do nothing.
    Inflexible shifts.
    Customers are literally the worst.
No promotions and no raises. I was there for over 5 years and made less than 50 cents more than when I started.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so terrible to your minimum wage employees and maybe they'll want to work harder.
Also, if someone comes to you with a sexual harassment complaint.... take the side of the defenseless 18 year old girl and not the creepy 40 year old manager.

I worked at Party City full-time

    Pros

It’s a fun atmosphere to work in

    Cons

The work they require you to do is physically demanding. Most times you are on a 12 foot ladder all day long hanging paper, every season, every holiday has to be put out on the floor or boxed up. They have no shrink controls people just rob you blind and nobody cares.

    Advice to Management

More payroll. There are way too many tasks to do with scanning outs and setting plan a grams. You need more hours and more people to do it.

I worked at Party City full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great staff, overall like the customers, could be an easy job!

    Cons

District managers are absolute bullies, condescending, arrogant, make fun of you, treat you like a child. No appreciation even if you work 24/7 to get their unrealistic goals done. Constantly degrade you in front of staff, makes it well known that you mean nothing and you can be replaced. It’s a dictatorship- been told not to speak or it’ll get worse if you do. No matter how good your store looks, something will be wrong- something minute!! Unless, of course, your one of his boys!

    Advice to Management

Could be a fantastic job if upper management weren’t so evil. I can deal with criticism but not nasty bullying. Run!!!

I worked at Party City full-time

    Pros

The discount was great, especially for supplies

    Cons

Did away with positions and everyone gets shafted. In those full time positions. Pay is not worth the headache.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees or if not they will leave for better opportunities. Stop getting rid of positions that brought money in the store.

    Pros

Lots of free time even around Halloween. Easy to learn the different positions. Nice management team. Employee discount given as soon as you start.

    Cons

    Low wages
    Poor breaks
    Too many hours
    Bad shifts
    Majority minor staff
    Weekly schedule

They need to give a clearer description of the job.

I have been working at Party City part-time

    Pros

Time goes by fast because you don’t stop working

    Cons

The whole store is ran by young kids. The customers are rude. The employees gossip and treat seasonal employees like crap. You work real hard for no money.

    Advice to Management

Hire a better team. Be more involved with your employees.
