    I worked at Parx Casino part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Coworkers are great, fun to work with for the most part. Decent pay.

    Cons

    Late nights are slow, suggestions aren't considered much by upper management. Very little training and organization

    Fast paced, rapidly changing environment. You see it all

    Cons

    Low wages, smoke filled building, upper management doesn't care about any department that doesn't bring in money for the company. Worst thing was secret shoppers

    - Minimal oversight - Relaxed environment - Friendly employees

    Cons

    - Pay isn't competitive - No rewards for good work/performance - Upper management is a mess - High turnover - Company doesn't treat employees like adults

    Advice to Management

    Start taking your employees seriously and reward them for the good work that they do instead of taking all of the profits for yourselves. Maybe some of them will stick around.

    Pros

    I enjoyed coming to work most days because my co-workers and the customers always made it fun. Most people looked out for each other.

    Cons

    Upper management did not care about you unless you were their pet. Different departments hardly spoke to each other unless it was to the waiters and waitresses. No consistency in procedures. People are picked for promotions instead of those wanting them, applying for them.

    Advice to Management

    Management needs to get to know their employees better and be more consistent with procedures. Incentives for employees that show hard work might be nice too. Especially when it involves coming to work in hurricanes and blizzards.

    proximity, competitive salary, potential for company growth

    Cons

    There is total disconnect between upper management and employees, difficult to request needed days off, no or late response towards requested vacations so that you cannot plan anything ahead of time, scheduling department staff has limited casino scheduling experience. Just a general feeling that management does not care about its employees.

    Treat employees better and listen to their concerns.
