    Pros

Were it not for the Flexible hours, and the ability to work from home or pretty much anywhere there would be no Pros

    Cons

Hard to know where to start on this meaty topic. Aside from the dysfunctional management, long hours, and total lack of information. Lets add smelly office, brutal office politics and downright favoritism. Although a small company, there are more 'Chiefs' than Indians since everyone claims a director title. Combine this with a clueless management who thinks its ok to bully employees as well is demonstrate total lack of ability at every level of the organization. Additionally, the most clueless are typically promoted upwards. Here, the higher you go, the more clueless you get.

    Advice to Management

Her's some advice: hang it up. If your still a startup after 10+ years, not only are you doing something very wrong, you're oblivious to what you're doing wrong. On top of that, you obviously are not even interested in actually improving what you're doing. No amount of 'Management Consulting' will extract your heads from your collective rear ends.

    Pros

    1) Flexible work hours
    2) Easy commute for those who live on Long Island
    3) Small company - got to know people who I worked with well.

    Cons

    1) No long term direction, vision, or strategy. Goal seems to be short-term.
    2) No accountability. People make big mistakes and get away with it.
    3) Backstabbing, politics, and poor morale.
    4) Total compensation (benefits + bonus) below industry standards
    5) Almost chaotic culture. No real processes or sense of structure and order. Very reactive - putting out fires daily.
    6) Decisions come from the top down and does not empower the engineer to do their best work.
    7) Office small and located in area with few restaurants.

    Advice to Management

Find managers and leadership that know what they are doing. Start treating your people better.
