I have been working at Patheon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

These are some of the best people you will ever work with. The work is usually exciting and things change weekly if not daily, in a good way. Mostly new directors and they are active and engaged leaders compared to previous leadership.

    Cons

The company is not the most "technologically advanced" to say the least. We have some internal systems that could be used for so much more. There is growth in the company, but you have to search for it and isn't always easy to find.

    Advice to Management

Focus on those that have potential, take the time to ensure they have a future here, and give them the training needed to suceed. Take time to develop TOP leaders and not just managers and address management issues when they arise and be proactive. And finally, update the Cincinnati facility and utilize our systems to be fully utilized!

I worked at Patheon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun at times, good people to work with, pay and benefits are good. As long as you get your job done it is flexible enough

    Cons

Management does not make decisions. Antiquated systems and processes. Can be long hours and stressful. Work life balance depends on role

    Advice to Management

Stop saying you are managing from an elevated position preventing decisions. Either manage strategically and make decisions or get in the day to day and see what needs to be improved.

    Pros

People you're working next to. Great group of people doing the best they can, with very little in terms of training, proper equipment, or positive reinforcement.

    Cons

In a word "management", who hires multiple people from automotive plants that were shutdown, to run a pharmaceutical company? They are strictly numbers oriented, above all is quantity. Favoritism is also a problem, not what you know but who you know. Multiple "made up" positions are posted with them already having favorites lined up for them, regardless of if they deserve these positions or not. Stay on their good side, go out have drinks with them, and make sure to go along with their ideas and you'll rise quickly. Don't and you'll find yourself trapped in your position with no chance of moving up, or under a microscope with the threat of being fired for forgetting a period at the end of a sentence.

    Pros

The people are great, very friendly, and mostly helpful.
Compensation is good for the area.
    Work is personally rewarding.

    Cons

TIRED!!!!! Working a lot of unpaid/unrecognized/unappreciated overtime for moths on in is daunting.
Experienced employees are often treated like second class citizens and are viewed as replaceable.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to help your employees find a better work/life balance. Reward them or at the VERY LEAST thank them for making that sacrifice.

    Pros

great teams of employees willing to help and push through hard times. It is great to see the dedication the employees have towards their work.

    Cons

It is hard to simplify current processes as many of the processes are not mapped. Little support has been given to improve the day to day life and responsibilities because so much work is needed.

    Advice to Management

Please support those who want to improve processes.
