I worked at PatientKeeper full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very good product that supported physician workflow. Product development, Marketing and Implementation resources are all awesome

    Cons

Company was positioning to be acquired by HCA prior to my departure. Head of services was too concerned about following process than getting the work done on time.

    Advice to Management

Get someone who wants to have a relationship with customers leading services.

I worked at PatientKeeper full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Awesome products, extremely talented employees, PK makes a difference in patient care.

Remember the end result of all your work. I enjoyed my career at PK and wish the company well.

    Cons

Definitely challenging, lots of hours but you grow and learn tremendously. It's not given to you, you have to go after it yourself.

    Advice to Management

Remember employees are the most important asset to your company. Treat them fairly, recognize their success, and allow work/life balance.

    Pros

Use your brain, problem solving is a critical competence in just about every role.
Flexible, professional environment. The work/life balance is very good. Managers respect that employees have a personal life. You're treated like an adult. Refreshing.
They thrive on people being productive, so you're surrounded by talented "doers".
New ownership (HCA) is very good. Solid leadership. Great benefits. Big company resources and stability.
Great future (vision) for the product with HCA resources: Big data, machine-learning, physician decision support. Very cool stuff!

    Cons

    Training could be better.
HCA is a big company, so less nimble.

    Advice to Management

Tap into HCA's wealth of resources.
Protect the nimble culture that is PK.

I worked at PatientKeeper full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They are pretty flexible in terms of work hours, everyone is friendly and helpful

    Cons

Growth rate is low, there were no new exciting projects to work on.

    Advice to Management

Try to look into and resolve the personal issues among different upper level managers.

I worked at PatientKeeper full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Really good talent overall and very friendly helpful co-workers.
Decent pay and pretty good benefits.
Very interesting work and excellent products.

    Cons

Most people will be working a lot of hours to complete their assignments. Not enough people to do the work. Some management can be very inconsiderate, unsupportive (for no good reason). Their business model does not seem to promote profitability so they live on VC funding -- not sure if they will ever "make the grade" and become a profitable business.

    Advice to Management

Talk to people and don't make snap judgments. Create policies that are fair and considerate and stick to them. Don't assume you know anything -- look at the data and don't believe everything you are told -- everyone has their agenda.

I have been working at PatientKeeper full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, cool products, lots of upside. PatientKeeper is on the cusp of having a significant impact on the healthcare market. Physicians love using our software.

    Cons

More work to do than people to do it. As at many emerging companies, resources are tight, and there's pressure to do a lot with a little.

    Advice to Management

    Staff up faster

    Pros

The people are great, atmosphere is relaxed but fast paced, the work is never boring and always challenging. Nice perks (free food, beer fridge, working remotely)

    Cons

Can be very stressful at tiimes, internal documentation and communication needs improvement

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

You can learn a lot in this fast paced environment. There are plenty of great people here. You should find the great ones, and hold on.

    Cons

There is no time for documentation...

    Advice to Management

We need time to recover. Our company has gone through years of abuse, and need to recover from these times in order to build a solid product.

    Pros

Most of the people are great to work with.

    Cons

Lack of true leadership and direction.

    Advice to Management

Stop yearly restructure and try to make what they have in place work.
